What am I doing wrong?

Ok I got it yesterday and it was great. I tested it in fifa 16 on ps4. It was really smooth. I updated the firmware. And now my connection seems to be laggy even if the ping diagnostic says the contrary. In fifa the gameplay is so slow and yeah there is lag.

 

So I wanted to know if even with the netduma the servers of fifa could have an impact on the gameplay?

 

I went also in the wiki. It says that in the congestion control we need to put the download/upload at 70%. I have a small connection (around 5 mega) so it doesn't seem to be a great idea.

The congestion control will help with any sort of network congestion on your side. Go to www.DSLreports.com and check your connection. You want to try to get your result for bufferbloat to an A+'s value. The congestion control sliders will affect this result. Start at 100% and work your way down. Hope this helps.

Thanks. At 90% for download and upload the test says that my upload is totally buffered. Can I lower the download but not the upload ?

Hi Ortiz, the firmware was heavily. It's extremely unlikely there is an issue mate. There is another firmware coming out soon with even more features for gamers that has been extensively tested in the lab. If you do prefer other firmwares (as I say the current one should be the best) I'd suggest waiting as the 1.03.6 is going to be the best one by far it consolidates all the features and improves them.

Hi Piilz, yes you can do both upload & download independently. 

 

I suggest keeping it to 70% unless you have any issues with downloading/uploading in non gaming applications. For example if streaming video gets buffering then perhaps move up otherwise 70% would be ideal.

 

You can try switching between pre-emptive and reactive algorithm. Different people prefer different algorithms.

Now if the upload that you're receiving from your Internet provider is very low you can prioritize your console or PC with the flower below the sliders. There's no real right answer to the best value. This will prioritize upload and download to your console for PC. But remember when you get ready to run a speed test to make sure you reset that flower back to even distribution with the buttons at the bottom Or your test values will be incorrect.

1 - Yes always reset distribution before you run tests

 

2 - I would start with 70/70 for both up and down and tweak from there.70/70 is a really good starting point thou and continue to adjust to get the BB and Quality you want.

Not necessarily, gaming doesn't require much bandwidth so 70% should be just fine for what it needs

Hi mate, I understand your frustration. Buit I must state it's impossible for alternate router to be better. We offer best ping reduction features available and never increase latency. Why don't you start a thread and specify what your pings are? We can't respond to how a game feels as that is very subjective and maybe due to the player or the game. We can only discuss pings the key metric in online gaming.

I get it.. the R1 is lowering my pings better than ever.. At least by half of what I was getting.. That's why im frustrated because the numbers are looking good but I'm missing something that I cannot see. I'm at work, but i'll try to get together with frasier 1 on 1. Im pretty sure someone who know will point out whats going on and I'll look like a complete wanker lol.. I getting pretty good at these English line.thx lian, this is why I have stayed with you guys this long. the customer support is unreal (great product) and that means a lot to me.

Just to chip in with my experience on Fifa 16 on Xbox One, I play Ultimate Team mostly and find that when I'm host (home team) I experience more issues in game. Issues are poor passing, slow unresponsive players, no intelligent runs, skill moves not working inc. fake shots, bad first touches and no space to move into. Opponent closing you down quickly yet loads of space for the opponent. Opponents players are doing everything perfect.

I'm host 85% of the time and find that it is worse when hosting, I often message my opponent after a particularly bad game and ask how it was for them and they say it was fine, really smooth.

Don't know if it's because I hosting that the gameplay is really slow like that. I'm asking to my opponents also if it's the same for them and the answer is also no. Don't have a clue on this. And what I want to know is if I can improve it by anyway.
