II N3MES1S II
Today I saw them outside at another house and then a little while later the internet went out. A few minutes go by and they knock on my door, they say they need access to my line. I ask whats the issue and he said there is feedback coming in from somewhere and they are trying to locate it. So he does his tests and ask me about my connection. My connection is ok as far as bandwith go but pings could be an issue. He says its the main line coming to my house and made an appointment for tomorrow to replace it. Fingers crossed it makes my line much better. They did it for mine and I usually get a touch more speeds than I pay for. It didn't cost me a cent.
II N3MES1S II
Ok a tech came out yesterday and he looked around and said there were multiple infractions. 1. the cable line was crossing over my neighbors garage and it shouldn't . (It was really old and was going through trees and touching garage roof) 2. It was never grounded and should always be grounded. (I saw a video on YT about this) So he replaced the main line coming from the box and ran it the way it was supposed to be crossing only my property. He then grounded it where my power line comes in and reinstalled the connection I had going to a splitter. Overall the job took him a little over 2 hours and he did a nice job but I think he was in a rush anyway. I was thinking about a line booster of some sort but forgot to mention it. Sucks I wish I did because I know it would help. Here is a quick link to a test.
Alex49H
Wow if only Cox would come and check my line too. We have rats in the area and I fear they are chewing on the line.
II N3MES1S II
Ok I'm the type that likes to make sure everything is legit, so I called TW and asked them to check if everything is good on their end. I found out on my own and noticed my upstream channels are using only two channels. (dont know if it ever used all four) So he said he saw that and I told him if he can send someone out ot recheck the new connections they did and maybe a filter on the line. So I'm going to post my findings on my router right now to compare them later after they do what they do. II N3MES1S II
Alright the tech came out today and looked around and I pointed him to an old splitter I saw that goes to my living room and splits to an unsed room. He put an extention on it and we tested the connection. All seems much better now, this is what it looks like now. cranium2001
Did you ask about the booster? I had them don't a couple years ago. Most times I get 22 and pay for 20. I average 19 down 2 up on the xbox test half the time. It does help and it's free.

I did ask about the "booster/filter" and he said I don't have full service so they don't need to add those to my system, he called it the mocha filter? I have always got more than what I pay for. 50/5 and usually it is 60/10ish.

He decided to add it. They have to guarantee 80% of what you pay for when they run the test. I was right there but the tech was cool and offered it up. He even changed some lines. I'd give that a shot. Ask them to come check it out and test the waters with the tech and see how they react.

The switched the lines with new ones and I am getting my speeds I pay for and little extra.
UK_Wildcats_Fans
I pay for 50/5 and have been getting about 60/6. I am in San Diego. After doing some goggling, I found out that TWC is already allocating about 20% more in areas where they started implementing TWC Maxx. They will also be upgrading bandwidths once they are complete. I talked with a rep on Friday. She stated that I should be getting my 300/20 upgrade by the end of January. http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/enjoy/better-twc/internet.html

II N3MES1S II
I just happened to look at my modems config and saw that it is IPV6 only now. I am in Los Angeles California. Will make the changes in the duma and see if its better.
II N3MES1S II
Alright after some time trying to figure out why I wasn't getting the new speeds I have, it is finally over. So trying to save some money I canceled the cable but had a good discount already with the package for internet only $5 more for 200/20. Took back the cable box and the rep gave me the 50/5 for $34.99 and still kept the $5 more for 200/20. So the bill will always be $39.99 for 200/20. (At least for a year) Now on to the really good part, as I was trying to see why the current modem in the house wasn't getting the speeds. Turns out the Netgear C3000 can only do up to 100mbps on TWC. So looking for a better modem I found out about the Arris SB6190 and man, it really does make a difference. Only 16 download channels are available to me and 4 upload at the moment but that can change and my modem will be ready for it. I got the modem at target because they had it for $129.99 and it was more or less an impulse buy but I had a $50 gift card and saved 5% with a target card. I also have to say that the SB6190 and the Netduma look really good together. But there was still a little issue once hooked up to the netduma but unticking and reticking turbo mode let me get my speeds.

Just monitor it especially the upstream. Lately some are going with the Netvear CM 600 which has had no issues whatsoever. Just a thought because I have the 6190 and am not using it because of that issue.
II N3MES1S II
Hey Alex, I have not really seen any high ping issues with this modem as of yet. Everything is super responsive except I do notice a huge spike in speed tests on the download side of things. Adjusting the C.C. will fix this issue as I needed to adjust for bufferbloat. So far no overheating and no random reboots, believe it or not the only thing I am thinking about is returning it to get the sb6183. Only because I am only getting 16 download and 4 upload channels in my area. Other than that this modem has been out for like 6 months now so I am sure they worked out the issues. I had none calling and connecting this with TWC.
