ByMgRs
So I go to play advanced warfare select multiplayer then online, it does the usual. Connecting to Xbox live then fetching online profile but then it gets stuck and comes up with error code 4096. Has been the same all day for me, I have re installed the game, deleted my saves, tested my connection with various pieces of hardware but no luck? Any ideas
Zennon
Have you turned off the geo-filter before you boot the game to rule that out first?
Buds
Maybe a COD issue with authenticating / getting playlist data? Have you tried another game?

Zennon
Try a cold boot not a wake , either change in settings to energy saving or hold the power button for 10 seconds while you turn it off.

Zennon
Activision only have info for PS for that error codeThey say to reboot your router , do you use modem > duma ? if so just reboot the duma http://support.activision.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/PlayStation-Error-Code-4096/?q=Error+Code+4096+xbox+&l=en_US&c=Game_Title%3AAll&fs=Search&pn=
Adam
You will only get error 4096 error codes in cod for a few reasons so it has to be one of these.. no connection to game servers nat type loss of connection for xbox1 usually a power cycle of all your equipment will fix it ( there is a 4096 if you are on ps4 but this is different and requires doing database rebuilt in safe mode)

Guest Netduma_Iain
GamerGuy if you have the Geo-Filter disabled then hard reboot the console & still can't connect. Then its almost certainly not our end I'm afraid
ByMgRs
GamerGuy if you have the Geo-Filter disabled then hard reboot the console & still can't connect. Then its almost certainly not our end I'm afraid Dont worry Iain I know it isnt my beloved Netduma I thought of that and tried my HH5 but the game still didnt work Have you tried just unistalling the update and not the game ? I cant un-install the update because if I do when I launch the game it tells me to install an update before I can launch the game My plan is to wait a few days and see if that resolves it. If not my Xbox one has been running a bit slow lately so I might just wipe and restart to see if that works as I was planning to anyway

ByMgRs
I got back and it still wasn't working so I wiped the console but before I unplugged my external HDD I had all my games on as an experiment to see if the games still worked. I setup my Xbox and downloaded my profile. Instantly all of my preferences and game saves had been re downloaded and all I had to do was plug in the HDD and everything worked. So I think something got corrupted but its working now!

ByMgRs
I thought so but now my Xbox one is doing all sorts of crazy things like this after I left it for a while? And it keeps crashing! I hate it when things break when they are a month out of warranty
