Ok great. That is one good thing. It is not the problem chipset.

Can you deselect DNS auto on the R1 and enter 8.8.4.4 and 8.8.8.8- make it manual.

Run the Internet diagnosis again and let me know the results? If you don't mind.

OK. Make sure you have reactive selected. If you do not have your R1 in the DMZ of your modem which I think you don't unselect Enable upnp forwarding. These next are just suggestions: Select allow auto feedback and I would deselect allow remote access unless someone is helping you like Iain or Fraser.

I have a couple other questions. Do you have another router attached in AP mode to the R1 and/or are you using the wifi on the R1?

That's what I needed to know. The R1 is in the Nighthawk's DMZ you are good to leave Upnp forwarding enabled.

The Errors on your modem:

Where the cable comes into your home do you know if there is a splitter so that the service can go to different rooms in your home.(i.e. foyer closet junction box). - Signal degredation due to bad splitter.

Or it could be outside the home and it that case it is the cable company's problem -I am thinking it is an upload power level problem.

Have you ever had your setup as modem>netduma>nighthawk as access point?

Internet connections send requests to stay alive frequently it looks like the requests are not getting to their destination in the instances you have posted here.

Are these over a short time or a long time?

Not trying to hijack your thread kevo,I also have issues with charter and have the same speeds as you and the same issues. If you don't mind I'll just follow along and ask a question from time to time and maybe we can get this shit sorted out for both of us.

Buck I don't have my R1 in the DMZ of my netgear,I use it in AP mode should I have enable upnp unticked ?

And kevo hope you have better luck with charter than I did.I supplied 3 weeks of info showing massive node overload but got nothing but the cops called on me as I went and sat at their office until I could speak to someone in charge.Apparently I made some of the people feel uncomfortable... :D

This is happening more frequently. I have Cox and they have come out 3 times and replaced the coax cable in house connected to my modem and the three way splitter. That improved the connection for me to an extent but I still see those error messages in the modems event log. I know a fellow member FQ19 who got his ISP to finally come out and fix the real problem so there is hope for us all.

Fuzzy I believe you can uncheck yours because you do not have the R1 in a dmz. It is only necessary if you have the R1 in a dmz and you are not getting an open NAT. Try it Fuzzy and let me know how it goes.

That is strange. Because if we could solve this location problem I think that would be the better set up for you modem>R1>Nighthawk(AP mode)
