I usually gave gaming device static ip if i wanna apply some rules to it like port forward or throttle in iternet speed or any other advance rules that you wanna add to this particular device. Since i got my duma every thing runs on automatic and i had never set a static ip for my ps4. That being sad i have read some setups requaiers more advance teweks to get good speed etc that requaires static ips etc. So i guess its all up to you indivdual setup Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I had left mine on auto until the bops 3 beta then I set mine to static to create portforward rules to allow an open NAT. Leave it auto until such games give you trouble I would say.
