SlobbyMcknobby
Hi im new to the forum because im having some trouble with my gaming lately and this seems to be the only place to get help/advice with the netduma. ive had the netduma for a few months now and play mostly advanced warfare. when i first got the router i installed hooked it up and used the tour to help with the quick setup and watched some videos on how to get the best setup. After tweaking the router a bit my gaming was awesome. My K/D went from. 0.98 to 1.08 in just a month and thats with already having over 20k kills. so i was very impressed with the router. The last week it has seemed my games have gotten noticeably worse where now im usually around breaking even or maybe slightly positive or negative. Before i was having games like 37 kills 7 deaths very commonly. My ping in a good game would be around 25ms and pretty steady. Now since the gaming has started getting worse for some reason i started from scratch. Reset my modem and router and reset all of my settings on the Netduma. Now when i play a game the ping according to the netduma can still very commonly be at 20 but it seems to fluctuate between 20 an 30 -35 up and down pretty quickly where as before it seemed a more steady line. Is there something could have changed to cause this or is this normal for most of you guys using the router?

It could just be a server issue with the game or a number of other things. You have had the Netduma router for a few months, most likely something else is the issue. Could you do an "Internet Diagnosis" from the GUI of the netduma and post the results? Make sure to click show results after This could be random but I do know a cloud update did get sent out to everyone, when did you start to notice the issue? Maybe something went wrong but that is unlikely….

Ive done and internet diagnosis and my ping say good and everything else says excellent. I dont know how to add pictures to the forum sorry. Trolling_Farm
You would have to make a photo bucket account & then get the link and post it here. Wifi or hard wire?

JConnor
How do OTHER games play? AW is notorious for having terrible performance and with the game at the end of its life cycle, that is only going to get worse with SBMM being lifted and players from all over the world connecting to hosts / servers just to get matches. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 10, 2015 Administrators Share Posted August 10, 2015 Hey, welcome to the forum and glad you've been enjoying it all these months Heres a few things that may help you. It would be good if you could give us the internet diagnosis/ping results you get and post them using the screenshot instructions provided above. Also ensure you're on the latest version which is 1.03.4, you can check your version by scrolling to the bottom of any page on the R1 control panel. If its below 1.03.4 you can upgrade by following this link read the instructions carefully http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=manual_update Once you've done that ensure you go through this optimal settings guide http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=fine_tune_netdumaplease make sure you disable IPv6 in all places as well as unchecking deep packet processing. It settings > miscellaneous check auto and bleeding edge cloud and then click apply. Also make sure you're using Chrome or Firefox as well, let me know how you get on with that. Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted August 11, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted August 11, 2015 im not sure what you mean by ping google trolling farm. Im pretty new when it comes to computer wizardry Don't worry, the internet diagnostics from the Netduma are fine so you don't need the pings to Google from your PC Your ping test is good but there is a little bit of jitter (nothing to worry about) but some of that would explain some of the "none smoothness" on the ping graph. Is the jitter making the game play not so good?
procreate
thats nothing, i was watching players go from 110ms to 900ms to 100ms to 900ms to 150ms to 600ms to 100ms to 1200ms and so on... game was LAGGY for a game that is usually pretty spot on [ghosts]
SlobbyMcknobby
im still currently having ok games but not as frequent and not as good and im partially blaming the jitter. when i first started using the router the ping would flat line about 25 ms and the games would be amazing. Maybe its just because there are less people playing AW now that BO3 is coming out? When i dont get connected to the dedicated server in washington my ping will usually be very steady but at a much higher ping like 60ms- 80ms
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 13, 2015 Administrators Share Posted August 13, 2015 You should try some of these options to get a better game: Set your home location, then put the distance really small, press the 'Snap' button a few times to auto expand the Geo-filter to an optimum size for getting games. Increase the Geo-filter Disable strict mode, this will allow more games to be connected to, please note they may appear outside of your filter. Move your home until you get a different host or padlock appear (you may have to restart the game but may not) and bare in mind the anti-cheat as well if you connect to games and continue to try and find other hosts.
