LeonGulien
I'm currently on v4.0.290 and it says it's up to date. How can I download this new update? I have already rebooted my Netduma, but that doesn't help. Edit: Success, I wasn't wearing my glasses! 🙂

It was only on the newest firmware that caused my results to stay much higher. Screenshots uploaded. The one with A+ rating was before at 80% download, 100% upload. I could run it at the 80% multiple times in the day and achieve the very low results. Everything felt pretty good in games as far as I could tell. Didn't even have to use steadyping or anything. The other screenshot with the A rating is on this firmware, 80% and 100%. I know it's minimal, but I like trying to achieve the best results and I've had it before on the prior firmware, so I believe it's achievable. Also, on this new firmware, this test result is much more inconsistent if I run a couple tests back-to-back (nothing changing on the network). Sometimes it goes to 8ms download, sometimes the download jitter is 10ms, sometimes the max is even higher, etc, you name it. I try 70% CC and everything in-between up to 100% and it's just very inconsistent. Ping plotter also shows the same now, i just wish i copied/saved results from prior firmware. happy to hear the devs logged in to make sure the ports are good. please let me know if they want to check anything more out. happy to keep the door open! I also sent you a follow up message on my wireshark results for my work laptop via VPN - please check this when you have the time. Would love for my work laptop to stop showing up as unknown(gaming). These ping differences you're seeing on the test, does this ever translate to in game or are you purely focused on this test to determine how good your connection is? Will have a look thanks 2 hours ago, andre8585 said: Posso farlo tramite app o solo da PC , il problema che da PC nn riesco a scaricare il firmware mentre da app riesco a scaricare il firmware ma non riesco a caricarlo per l'installazione Glad you were able to get updated in the end, thanks for the update! Will have a look thanks I will say Valorant ping spikes in a larger range more than before. Again, minimal and unsure if that's exactly due to R3 firmware update or not. Ping used to be more stable around 19-22 on the same California server. Now it's between 19-24. I just notice a larger spike in ping, per say. I can say that I don't do as good as consistently. Not sure if it's a placebo, or due to other stress. Pingplotter can't get toooooo stable, has little spikes to google.com. It ranges between iirc 13-16ms then it'll have some higher spikes every 5-10 seconds. I can't say what pingplotter did on the prior firmware as I think I only looked at it once then. So yea, primarily just looking at numbers showing and what's consistent in the numbers vs not. Netduma Fraser

MackMurder
downloaded the new firmware. went to setttinngs, trouble shooting, update firmware. clicked the correct file. pressed upgrade. it says trying to reconnect to your router and then stays on that screen for 10 minutes before it times out. rebooted the duma. tried again, didnt help. tried redownloading file. didnt work I cant log into the duma on my phone 192.168.77.1 I cant log onto my duma app. Deleted the app and reupdated. Keeps saying unknown error occured. Nothing but headaches from Duma since the day I bought it. Its always something with this pos.

If you upgraded via WiFi then it would disconnect you and your device may not auto reconnect you. Do a factory reset, I'd advise doing it on this firmware anyway, see if it did actually take the update, if not try again and it should work - ideally do it from a wired PC if you didn't previously. dinego
Hello, Netduma Team, I am experiencing some issues with my Netduma R3 and would appreciate your help in resolving them. Here are my main concerns: 1. Latency fluctuations and unstable ping Despite using Geo-Filter with Strict Mode enabled and adjusting Ping Optimizer, I am still experiencing noticeable latency fluctuations and occasional ping spikes. The Steady Ping feature does not seem to be stabilizing the connection as expected. 2. PPPoE vs. DHCP connection issues I have two ISPs at home: Claro (DHCP) → Works fine when configured directly on the Netduma. Vivo (PPPoE) → The connection frequently drops after a period of use. I found that to use an ISP with PPPoE, it must be set up via DMZ on the ISP modem, as Netduma does not handle PPPoE well directly. Are there any additional configurations recommended to stabilize the PPPoE connection via DMZ? 3. Errors found in logs I have noticed repeated warnings in my logs, such as: daemon.err cli.lua[4274]: [WARNING]: ct [random code]: time went backwards! This occurs multiple times and may be affecting performance. I also found logs indicating that HybridVPN and DHCPv6 are active, even after attempting to disable them: daemon.warn dhcp6c[PID]: T1 expired daemon.warn dhcp6c[PID]: T2 expired Is there a way to completely disable DHCPv6 in the system? 4. Port Forwarding and Traffic Prioritization Issues I have manually configured port forwarding based on recommendations for Call of Duty (Black Ops 6) and also set 1-65535 UDP/TCP in SmartBoost, but I am unsure if this could cause conflicts. Additionally, I have tried limiting bandwidth using Bandwidth Reservation for gaming traffic, but I am not sure if the values I used are optimal. My Configuration: ISP: Claro (DHCP) / Vivo (PPPoE - via DMZ) Configured MTU: 1500 QoS Settings: Auto (Recommended) with 89% down / 85% up Geo-Filter: Only Brazil, Ping Assist 20-70ms UPnP: Disabled, using manual Port Forwarding Netduma R3 Firmware: Latest version (v4.0.540) HybridVPN: Disabled (but logs indicate it may still be running) My Questions: Do these log errors indicate a serious problem? Is there a way to completely disable DHCPv6 and HybridVPN? Is using port forwarding + 1-65535 UDP/TCP in SmartBoost the best approach? Are there any other optimizations that could further stabilize my gaming connection? Are there any specific settings that could improve PPPoE stability via DMZ? I appreciate any assistance you can provide!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 10 Administrators Share Posted February 10 @dinego Can you give us some of the stats you're seeing on this please? The team are aware and looking into it You can ignore those, it won't cause any issues Port Forwarding and Bandwidth reservation are completely different features, they won't cause conflicts. It won't be limiting, it's just reserving bandwidth. -- No they don't pose a problem You can disable IPv6 in WAN/LAN settings. If you don't have HybridVPN enabled it will be disabled. No reserving bandwidth won't do anything, gaming doesn't require much anyway. Prioritize it and have Congestion Control active. ^ No, it's something the team need to resolve
