Random disconnects with new firmware

Recommended Posts

Now I'm suddenly getting around 100mbps speeds. 400 was the best I coupled pull on the Mac Jack and I connected directly to the router during our call.

Whatever is going on the router is now struggling.

We've got some changes coming in the next update. Hopefully it makes some improvments for you!

No not on the R3 but ipv6 from the ISP are usually icmp filtered so it's pretty garbage anyway. I'm my opinion it's not worth having until ISPs can figure a better way to not filter icmp as much as ip6 is heavily reliant on it.

@Netduma Jack BAlso, just a couple things I noticed. I never fixed my router log settings from the update and reset. They’re still the default time zone which I believe is yours.

We also found a screen a little bit ago on the Xbox that shows data usage. It shows activity until 5am my time and then completely drops off until it was booted at 10am, shortly before I posted. When I get a chance I’ll try and grab a picture.

@Netduma Fraser

Have any of you duma people been able to reproduce the disconnect issue when connected with a switch?

I'll have to check in with the team on Monday and see

@Proud R3 Owner

They spent about three hours total in my router on Thursday and it seems like they got some good information. I just don't know that any of it pertained to the switches.

Well I know it's not the switches honestly since they don't affect anything when I use my tp-link archer ax11000 instead of the R3.

PIggy-backing off this comment - keeping tabs on this thread but I've still not yet had another disconnect since adjusting the Xbox settings. At this point I'm not sure if the switches are just a coincidence or not.

@SlamchezMight be worth you trying the same thing in your setup as well. Just to see if this helps you out as well

I’m definitely going to see if my brother will do this on his. I know mine is already in that state since it’s hardly used.

Just make sure the additional settings are also set up accordingly. You can put it in Shutdown mode but there's still options for it to wake and do checks.

Could you let me know what other settings there are? I think I have mine set up accordingly as it never pops on to the network. This way I know both Xboxes are set and we can start after I reboot this time.

Sure thing, I'll grab a screenshot tonight and post it here.

EDIT: Screenshots uploaded. This is under General > Power Options, then > Customize Power Options for additional changes.

I've done this to both Series X's, one which is wired over LAN port, the other has been a mix of both wired via the second switch and over Wifi.

Previous settings were using "Sleep" and both "Keep my console up to date" and "Keep my games & apps up to date" were both enabled.

So while I was out we crashed. I just restarted the Xbox and the router and I guess we’ll see how far we get.
