some of the things wont work cant use ping optimizer and i had to press the continue anyway?

What do you mean you can't use it exactly? We're rewriting that feature completely at the moment as it's not as reliable as it should be.

We are aware Ping Optimizer/Speed Test isn't 100% reliable at the moment and it's something the team are working on. Those features can still work, it just may not be every time. In the meantime best to adjust Congestion Control manually in Ping Optimizer > Advanced.

Make the change, wait 10 seconds then go off the page and back, is it saved then?

I think actually you'd benefit from doing another factory reset on the router and it should run smoother overall after that. The reason though that the SmartBOOST options are disappearing is because you can only prioritize by activities or devices, not both at the same time so if you pick one or the other and add your rules they should then save properly

@the kappa convictJust wondering did you try factory resetting from the UI? I downloaded OPERA GX for testing and it does seem to slightly take a bit longer to load during the setup procedure compared to chrome and firefox but I am on mac not windows so it may differ...but once it is setup it works.

Hi, I reset it completely i managed to get it back on had to connect to the old router daisy chain.

Opera GX has always been fine for me no issues at all, from what i was told its the VLAN, they said there was a bug they haven't fixed and it wont be until next week.

I have 1GB fibre that requires VLAN to allow the internet to pass through so its that messing it all up.

@the kappa convictMakes sense I couldn't really speak on ppoe networks as I run dhcp so it wouldn't be something I could replicate been tester for a bit and it taken a while to be polished so it might take longer than a week is all I'll say...

ok, so after attaching it to my isp and daisy chaining from the Connect Fibre router its working as intended and I no longer have any issues not being able to use 90% of the router.

i can save profiles, i can use the congestion control, and at this moment it seems to work as intended. (I Will post here again if that is not the case)

Thanks for helping, apologies for multiple posts but I REALLY REALLY wanted to get some Tech work done I do alot of tech help etc and it was such a head ache being stuck not knowing how long this will last for, at least now i have an option.

Is it possible to give me an idea when you will fix vlan so i can base results on a true connection??

Just to Note i am on a Full Fibre 1GB connection the Vlan is just an identifier and not based as a pppoe type Connection I do have my router setup as DHCP its just required for the internet to pass through is all it does

That's good to hear! It's still a true connection, a lot of people will use that sort of configuration. We don't give out any ETAs as it is always subject to change but I will let the team know about the specific troubles you've had (they may want to look into this deeper with you if you'd be interested in helping?) and that may jump it up in priority.

on the nighthawk xr500 there are a lot of issues related to vlan that is why I ordered a r3, kinda weird that the same issues are popping up on the r3

biggest issue was that devices couldn't see/communicate with eachother when vlan was on. for example casting to a chromecast wouldn't work, it wouldn't even show up. ftp and anything that needs devices to be visible on the network didn't work

second issue was that qos wasn't working properly, for example when setting congestion control it wouldn't work on the upload speed, the speed wouldn't be limited and just goes 100% while the download did work and get limited.

as a fix for Netflix i created a hotspot on my phone and routed internet through that but this was obviously not sufficient for streaming vr, really hope that this is not necessary for the r3, defeats the purpose of upgrading. (using another modem like my isp's router/modem isn't an option because they didn't give me one only an ont, ripp.)

We've just implemented some VLAN fixes for the new firmware in Early Access if you can give it a try and let us know if the issue still happens

You are YouTube right? Used to watch your videos long time ago.

regarding the issue. I have same problem and still unsolve. What I temporarily fix is just

1. when the router is in bootloop, unplug all lan cable off

2. wait until bootloop stops.
3. plug all wan, lan back in

4 it will work until you restart again
