What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g. XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode

Are ALL devices connected to the XR? Can you provide a screenshot of the QoS and Geo-Filter page please?

You're not receiving any packet loss (bottom graph is the one to focus on), hard to tell without the scale on the left but ping generally seems low, it does fluctuate but can't tell by how much and you do have a spike though its not huge so could be QoS needs to be fine tuned.

I'd suggest testing with downloads while following: https://bit.ly/bufferbloat-test start with a high value e.g 95%, test, decrease 10%, test, decrease 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good, then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Important to note that Download/Upload on CC don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values. This is more of a real world test as you're actually doing traffic you would normally do.

I tried adjusting it before did not help my problem. even when no ones home and the internet is not being used there's always a input delay I'm also playing near servers or opponents. I stop messing with the Congestion Control felt like it was making my problem some what good  for 1 day then bad the next  day. i only run Traffic Prioritization because it lowers my ping some what but dose not help my input . I feel like its some thing else that is causing my input delay i think this could be something that is causing it [DumaOS] Backing up settings to config partition., Saturday, June 01, 2024 10:57:19

What game is it you're playing? Try forcing servers slightly further away even if they have a higher ping, they may play better if you're being lag compensated.

The log entries there won't be causing any issues.

That does sound exactly like a congestion issue, what is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g. XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode. Are ALL devices connected to the XR? What Congestion Control settings did you end up on?

Sorry to jump in on this @Netduma Fraser. As i feel and can share his experience. Just a quicky , What do you exactly mean when you say "XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode"
- I think i have a good idea what your trying to say. But i also buy scratch off tickets and think im gonna win a million every time ... everytime im wrong. So if you could elaborate a little further and is it beneficial to do this setup? Last little tiny quesiton for you, But how do i ensure all traffic flows to the XR from my CM2000 modem? Oh and if you were gonna ask me what you asked him then CG is set at 100/100 (have already tried both at 70 and yes ive "experimented" with more. I do not feel i have understood it at all yet.

Thanks in advance. Just feel the need to ask since currently feel the same as @Alves910

I have spectrum. I know you're using your own modem. Along, with using, the XR1000.

Something I've noticed that may be overlooked is that you have your UPLOAD set to 10mbps in the screenshot. It's not 100mbps as you mentioned.

Double check and see if you have your UPLOAD set to 100mbps and not 10mbps.

I also want to share with you something I found recently regarding, pingplotter. I found setting pingplotter, to use ONE cpu only. Helps with it from acting up. I noticed this for quite some time. If pingplotter, was in the background of another app I had open. I noticed my ping was a little smoother. But, when I clicked on pingplotter from being background to a foreground app. It acted sporadic. Changing the pingplotter to only use ONE cpu, helped get a better grasp of the connection. Again, this is from one spectrum user to another and being able to diagnose little better with pingplotter.

I don't have XR, but the screenshot below is with the Netduma R3.

my spectrum speeds are 100 download and 10 upload so should i set 100 up load on the set bandwidth speeds ? and  on the 2nd post are you saying its better to use the spectrum modem for testing ?

No, you're fine with your connection if it is 100 download and 10 upload.

100 mbps should be decent enough for a household. But, I could see 10mbps upload, being a possible issue.

But, not rule out what the Congestion Control can do.

For example, using 'Always' to ensure that the CC is always working to ensure each device don't handicap the other when download or, more importantly, when streaming.
I know you mentioned that you change the sliders, and whatever percentage you use, doesn't seem to help.

Sometimes, starting fresh can help mitigate some issues.

Factory resetting the XR, and set it up accordingly, while also using the 'always' option, in the congestion control.
Also try giving the console a static IP, outside the DHCP range, and then rebooting the console so it can grab the new IP you have given it in the XR. Next, adding that, console to the XR DMZ.

If you have multiple people in the household that also using their gaming console/pc. You can instead, enable, NAT FILTERING to 'OPEN' from 'Secure'. It's in your first screenshot. As this may also help with some of the packet loss you're experiencing.

im going to try this today question  so for the dhcp you said set it outside of the dhcp range so should i set the ip over 254   ? my starting ip Starts from 2 Ends 254 on my router  and another question set up the Static ip on the Ps5 Console only or on the router like the picture. and yes i have multiple people in the household that also using their gaming consoles  and  pcs so do i set Nat FILTERING OPEN AND set my main console on XR DMZ ? or dont touch xr dmz if i have nat filtering open ??

Your device will still be within' the DHCP range. As it does start at 2 and end at 254. So, 97 is still inside the DHCP range. Changing the DHCP to say Starting .100 and end .254. Then the .7 will be outside the DHCP range and shouldn't cause any conflict with the DHCP.

As for the NAT FILTERING. Yes, when using OPEN. You will not need to use DMZ. UPNP will handle all the requests, and it's for gaming consoles. So, you should be fine.

Enable NAT FILTERING and disable, DMZ, if it's already ENABLED. You should be good.

Hi !

The simplest is to reserve it for the PS5 directly on the router outside of the DHCP lease. No need to do it on both!

In your case between 1 and 99.

Restart the PS5 so that the IP is taken into account...
