When the router first came out they were just trying to get the device up to a working standard with majority of applications working. Now however, they are focusing on one massive upgrade to get everything working and without issues at all. The core features that they sold everyone on via DumaOS 4 is a big deal to the users and their team. People got used to these every couple of weeks drops so I understand their frustration and yes, a roadmap would be nice but I get why they don't even if I don't agree with it. Unfortunately due to the unstable wifi and my need for VPN this router is a paperweight atm. Nothing against the awesome features, I just need what I need for my network and my UDM Pro has been a friggin workhorse for me this far. I'd love to eventually just run this for my network and use my UDM Pro as a Security Gateway but I will wait till I see how the new firmware runs. I am hopeful that their team is working hard to get it dropped soon so they can potentially troubleshoot before they take break and spend time with family. Diggitydan
They updated the Android app the other day and added support for the Hybrid VPN so I'm guessing its due soon, I personally don't mind waiting the R3 has already had more updates than the XR1000 did the entire time i used it. Hopefully not much longer Razor67

Popular Post cljackhammer
Probably 2025. Netduma still hasn’t released a firmware. It’s almost been 3 months and nothing. It appears that they only have 1 developer on the team lol cedric108, iOrcus, CES and 2 others 1

Here’s my setup, I set everything up to have bare minimum CPU usage, I pretty much only want gaming traffic to be prioritized I have wireless disabled (I have a dedicated WiFi 7 access point connected with Ethernet) I have RGB turned completely off Adblock Disabled I don’t use GEO filter and I turned steady ping off I have ipv6 disabled Port scan disabled and firewall disabled Custom DNS servers, 8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4 Congestion Control settings 70% download and upload I have smart boost on with gaming priority set at 1000 Weird bug I found is steady ping and Speedtest bypass setting will reenable itself automatically. I have to manually change it after every reboot. You can try these settings and see if you still have problems but with those settings I only get random connection drops every once in a while
BadLuckTom
Be aware that return process after a month of purchase might require legal steps so... They know it's not working properly (sorry its a router nothing magical should be setup up one/twice very occasional update or settings adjustment) not a beta/dev tester for a product try this or this or this or this or that or this or that or this oh well wait for an update might fix. Its a joke, not fit for purposes even as a basic router in my opinion currently. No eta's on fix or updates for issue just try these work arounds is crazy...be honest stuff didn't work out the way it was planned let people return useless product and who wants to play around with it let them keep it, no quibble return's for unhappy customers, we don't expect even a sorry anymore so let's part way's? (sorry for venting product has potential but currently it's in a failed state) carmine19, Kage79 and CES
cljackhammer
@swippurYou do realize that you most of the core features of the router turned off? I’m not sure why this would be acceptable? You’re basically using the R3 for QOS. If you provide the logs when you get a disconnect I can take a look at it, it may not be the issue others have mentioned. If your ping is quite stable i.e. it doesn't fluctuate much then you are then just raising your ping unnecessarily with Steady Ping on - I also think we need to do more to educate people on it as it is such a new feature. I think going forward we'll have that option disabled by default. A new firmware will be coming soon which should address the main pain points users have reported. cljackhammer and Psyco-Mengo

I personally don’t use it. The reason I get netduma routers is because of the crispy hit detection I get no matter the ping in game. I’ve tried plenty different routers. I agree but all the videos about steady ping seem to indicate if you only ping only increase by 1-2 let’s say you start at 10 but it fluctuates by 1-2 making it 11-12ms at times then steady ping is still going to help you and will remove all jitter and stuff so if that isn’t the case all those promotion videos for steady ping are kinda misleading. I would generally advise keeping it enabled but if people are saying it's making their experience worse (which is shouldn't), then it is likely because of the added ping if their connection is more stable than others. In the promotion videos the first one in particular it was saying or made it sound like only around 5ms would be added but it seems like on mine anyway it adds more even though I only fluctuate by 1-2ms. It don’t really seem to hurt I guess but it’s something I noticed. The only major issue I saw and it’s a weird one is with valorant, I did a lot of research and the issue is caused by internet somehow but it would take forever to load me into the games don’t ask me why but that never happened and still didn’t happen on my sons pc but just even loading into a 1v1 made it take 2-3 mins on mine and in game the connection felt super jittery and choppy compared to normal . Lucky for me I don’t play valorant anymore and was only going into a 1v1 cause my son thought he could beat me. Deasha

dmanjiggy89
I have to restart my Duma3 router everyday. Not sure how or why this happens. I have a very minimal configuration. I run it hard wired with no rules setup cause it interferes with pubg which is literally the only game I play. Can someone please f****ing tell me why we spent so much money for half a functioning product? Shminka
