uunf8z3d
Hi, I'm having a new issue with the R3 and the PS5. Since about a week, I have random micro dc with the message lan cable disconnected on the PS5 immediately followed by lan connected. Sometimes it occurs just once over a couple hours, sometimes 10 times in a row. If I'm in game, it usually lag and freeze a bit before disconnecting. All my ethernet cables are new (I replaced all of them when I bought the R3) and my setup is : Orange livebox 5 -> wall socket RJ45 -> ethernet to R3 -> R3 to 1gb ethernet switch -> Switch to PS5 (I have a Xim matrix plugged on the switch). I tried unplugging / replugging and switching the cables but no effect R3 is in the DMZ Due to the state of the firmware I'm not using any of the router features at the moment (QOS generates lag spikes in COD: in game ping goes up from 10-20 to 65 but unplayable at 65, stays for 2-3 minutes then back to 10-20). Only thing I sometimes use is geofilter (which generally works for me) and I think steady ping (when I don't use geofilter I uncheck filtering mode so I think steady ping still active but not sure). Rebooting the router usually makes it better for a short time but the issue comes back fairly quickly Any solution ?
ChrisG82
Either connect the PS5 directly to the R3 or ask the question in the manufacturer forum of your switch to which you have connected the PS5 as you said. If the PS5 reports a disconnect, this means that the connection from the PS5 to the switch is faulty and not the connection from the switch to the R3
uunf8z3d
I don't really get your point, if I unplug the switch from the R3 with the PS5 on it's also going to say lan cable disconnected. Also when this occurs there is also a lag/freeze on the TV which is connected to the R3 via wifi
DARKNESS
@uunf8z3dTry enabling Spanning Tree protocol could be a loop issue going on from the switches uunf8z3d, TG3NOC1D3 and Fairypusher

Also when this occurs there is also a lag/freeze on the TV which is connected to the R3 via wifi That's definitely not how I know it. If the PlayStation is connected to an active switch, the network connection itself is definitely maintained. Then the PlayStation only says no Internet but not LAN cable not connected. Edit: It might still be worth a try to take the switch out of operation and run everything via the R3 only, even if some devices are then possibly not connected. uunf8z3d
Hi, thanks ! Enabling spanning tree protocol seems to have resolved my issue (no dc yesterday on a 5h session) ChrisG82 and Netduma Fraser
ChrisG82
So you maybe you can look what could caused the possible loop issue. It may be a fault in the cabling or in the configuration of the switch, provided it can be managed.
