Shane
Hi All, Anyone got any experience with EE 5G routers and Netduma? (i'm still running trusty old Duma R1) My broadband is extremely slow and cannot get fibre as the council won't allow the roads to be ripped up, joys of living in rural area. Was thinking of getting the EE 5G router but would like to know others experience if possible. Thank you.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 9 Administrators Share Posted February 9 In terms of them working together there shouldn't be any problem, as long as the 5G router has an ethernet port that the R1 can connect to. Do keep in mind that any wireless forms of internet can be unstable and that inherent instability isn't something the router can counteract. If I was in your shoes and finances permitting I would keep the existing broadband for gaming and then get the 5G router for streaming/downloading purposes, then you get the best of both. Jeofel08
@Shane I am currently using a 5G modem and it has no connection issues with Netduma R2 so there shouldn't be any problem. Just make sure the 5G signal is very strong and perhaps try to get an LTE or 5G external antenna Netduma Fraser
TrayDay
Here in the states, we have similar companies offering 5G home internet. This is for R2. But, it will 100% work for R3 as well. I wrote up a topic about this, give it a look https://forum.netduma.com/topic/51378-5g-home-internet-is-possible/ Netduma Fraser
DARKNESS
@ShaneIf you live on a rural area and have plenty of Land Space I would just go with Starlink to future proof your network though it is expensive so if it out of budget then stay with LTE internet.
