Hello @Freshjive

I do believe that this is a known issue..  @Netduma Fraser  will be back tomorrow to further assist you and can give you some guidance..

If you go into the advance tab of Ping Optimizer you can set your CC there manually for the mean time.. 70% for up and down seem to be a good starting point.. This would be a good work around until Fraser responds for you..

Are you able to get into the Advance Tab of Ping Optimizer?

Thanks!

Zippy.

Same here. I can never get Ping Optimizer to work if I set it to 'Run Full Test'. But it will work when I set it to Simple or Expert.
However, there's yet another problem when I set it to Expert. When it's determining an Optimized percentage level, the Upload percentage will decrease during the 3 tests. But for Download, it keeps on running the test at 100%. Is this as intended? Shouldn't it be testing it at varying percentages to determine the best Congestion Control capping point?

What’s even more weird is why does it work for some and not others. We are all running the same firmware pretty much.
Has anyone tried to factory reset? Does it help. Is it our connection that is the problem or our geographical location maybe. I’m on cable and in the eastern US. Just spitballing here.

I just got my netduma R3 today as well. I still own the xr500. MW3 plays very well on the R3 despite that I also can’t get ping optimizer to work. And I tried blocking some server for other old cod games but it does not work.  I hope there is a way or update for that.  Love what you guys do. Thanks.

Updates will be greyed out until there is a new one available for you to upgrade to via the interface. We will have some we can provide you manually as well in some cases.

Ping Optimizer we're aware it's not 100% reliable at the moment and we'll be working on that, it should still work, I think part of it is a bug and part of it is dependent on the servers which is why some people have more luck than others.

Once you've added a server to your deny list you'll need to wait at list 2 minutes in the lobby before searching again so the connection with that blocked server is properly severed, otherwise you'll be able to connect to it again. There will also be multiple servers clustered in a single location so it may look like you're getting the same server but it will just be another located there.

I installed the firmware you sent. Thank you so much! The R3 is running a lot better in my opinion. Ping optomizer is still funky and keeps failing, but congestion control is working like a beast to tame the "buffer bloat". My ISP is kinda terrible to be honest. We have gig fiber but its a really dirty signal. They are a small isp and I am in a rural area so they are my only option for now. I bought 2 routers before this R3 to manage this issue and both did not work...ahem the NG is now doing what it does best, act as a WAP...lol the Evanrouter was cheap but the company went belly up. I got the best results ever on waveform this am, playing with the CC and backing it down slowly 5% at a time...I am inpressed. I never got a A...best was a B+ (in two years) and low latency gaming is what we as a family are into. So I just wanted to say thanks to you all at Duma... It means a lot to see that you have put in the years of hard work to get to this point. I support you 100%. Cheers and Merry Christmas!!!!

I found out that the reason why the ping optimizer fails sometimes is also possibly because there is a device on your network that is causing it to fail, like how I found out that my Wi-Fi extender wasn't functioning properly, once I removed it, it started working normally. But once I put my Wi-Fi extender back on the network it stops again. Merry Christmas Everyone 🙂

Interesting, I wouldn't have thought it was that, does it work 100% of the time now?

Interesting, shouldn't be any difference as the test is done at the router level so would be unaffected by how you're connected to the router. Happy New Year!
