SkeeboeMan
First of all let me start by saying I love the router but I know I'm not using it to it's full potential. I've fooled around with the settings and geofilters but it seems like I'm mostly using the router to get into lower ping lobbies and loving the fact that I can now tell whether I'm lagging or just sucking by constantly peeking at the ping graph. My biggest problem is that I see lag spikes fairly often on a lot of servers (some look like cardiac monitors). I have so so internet (comcast) but hate these lag spikes because they're literally killing me. I suppose my question is part question and part feature request... Is there any possibility of a feature that would run a ping test to known game servers (AW)? This would allow us to set our home location closer to servers that we have better connections to. I realize in an ideal world, we'd have lower pings to servers that are physically close but in my experience, this is far from reality. Thoughts or suggestions? lukasz
Hello there welcome to the DUMA ARMY. This ofcourse is down for your routing to that particular server but most of the cases its actully like that distance incress ping. The reason why you may have a diffrent point of vew on this is when you watch geo map and host is far away and you are pingin it very low right? Or vice versa? That happens offen and the reason for that is because new servers are always adde also ips of changes etc. That causes misslocations etc. So cloud that is responsible for you geo map on net duma is constanly updated. You can help if you ever feel thator see that the server is far bot have a grate ping and other way around. Please post it in the link below so it can get check and located propely. http://forum.netduma.com/topic/1723-cloud-incorrect-locations/ And also even when you have palyed on dedis around one are you may think its just one but reality is that there is a lot of them in one area sort of like farm. And for some those may play grate for some crap very hard to determinate
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 27, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 27, 2015 Hey Skee, welcome to the forum! Just to add to what lukasz has said, its worth doing the internet diagnosis test on the router and seeing what results you get as this can indicate problems with your line, so if you're having a lot of jitter etc it will tell you, you can then go to comcast with this proof and see if they can resolve it
SkeeboeMan
Unfortunately Comcastic has been out at least 15 times and each time they either deny there's a problem or claim a "line technician" will look into it and call me. Guess who never receives any calls? Just frustrating....I'll be first in line if there's ever a class action against Comcast! As bad as they are, they're the only high speed provider in my area (sans DSL which I've been told I live too far away from the hub). Anyway, thanks for the tips guys.
