AceMan20
Howdy! So I purchased an R2 router yesterday and followed the instruction booklet - but ultimately couldn't get it to function as intended. I have the router plugged into my ISP's modem, its the only wired device that is and my laptop wired to the R2 router. Doing this, I do have internet access (even when turning wifi off), my laptop identfies the router as "Network 2". Trying to download the OS and access the wizard is where my first problem occurs, it asks me for a username and password to access the site (used both dumaos/ and the IP), and no matter what I try, the site doesnt load, or it just asks me for the username/password again like I got it wrong. I found somewhere on this site that the password is "password" and the username is "admin" which is what I was using. Interesting enough, when I turn wifi on, my laptop finds the netdumar2 router, but trying to connect to it using the password on the bottom of the router has yielded no results, just says "could not connect to this network". I believe I read that I would need to download the OS/set up wizard and do it before wifi can be enabled. I feel like my laptop when wired to the R2 router, isnt communicating to it right because its only labeled as "Network 2" and not "NetdumaR2" like the wireless is registering it as. Any tips or insights on how I could get connected to access the wizard? (attached below are screencaps from the site asking for login credentials and also of my connection tab)

Heres a video for further evidence. My connection is wired to the NetdumaR2 router with the laptops wifi turned off. 578585942_2023-01-1621-55-59.mkv
Zippy
Have you gone through the setup wizard of the R2? That has to be done first! In your browser type in 192.168.77.1 There you should be greeted with the setup wizard.. If you cant access the setup wizard then factory reset the R2 by holding in the reset button on the back of the R2 for 30sec. Then release and wait about 2 minutes then proceed to try again. You should now be greeted with the setup wizard when you type in 192.168.77.1 Again you have to go through the setup wizard to actually setup a password and complete the setup of the router. Ive watched your video and it seems that is the problem. If you have purchased this router used or second hand then you cant log in until you factory reset the router and proceed through the setup wizard. Hopefully this is what your having trouble with. Good luck and welcome to the forum. Thanks! Zippy.

Was able to access the wizard and set it up from there - however one smaller problem arose. I dont have the ability to connect devices to the Netduma using wifi - it doesnt show up on the wifi list like it did before. The only way I can access dumaOS is via wired. Is this intended? Thanks so much in advance! Zippy

Thanks so much in advance! Connected wired, access the interface via 192.168.77.1 and head to "Network Settings" on the left hand side. Click "WIFI" and disable/un-toggle "Enable 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi". Next proceed to reboot the router from the top three dots in the top right corner and choose reboot. Once it's fully rebooted, this time enable/toggle on "Enable 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi" and reboot the router once more. Might be some interference going on with the WiFi and just need a rebooting on the WIFI. Zippy and Netduma Fraser

If you continue to have problems post back here for further help! Thanks! Zippy.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 17, 2023 Administrators Share Posted January 17, 2023 Hey, welcome to the forum! Do try the method Tray suggested - it's exactly what I would have advised you to do. Let us know how you get on!

Yessir, this worked perfectly, although rebooting the router already set the enable 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz back to on instead of flipping it back on then rebooting it again. Connected to it just fine with the PW I set during the Wizard. Thank you so much y'all, no further questions!
