Anyone figured out how to geolocate in MW2 without using a VPN?

I'm trying to geolocate from the western US to the eastern US to cut down on lag compensation which is, as usual, out of control.

In past games, I've had no issues doing it.

When I put myself somewhere else, the game shows my true location and doesn't give me games in the circle. It always chooses the servers closest to me, which defeats the purpose.

I haven't been able to make anything work using a VPN as the game doesn't want to log in.

Thanks for any help provided.

if you geo locate over the east coast

set your ping assist to 0 and it will force those servers

it wont change your in game location unless you use a vpn

top tip i can give. is make sure you enable geo filter atleast 2 mins before you launch your game. if you enable after the game is launched then it wont work right, if at all.

If the above advise hasn't helped, can you provide a full page screenshot of your Geo-filter setup currently?

I'm in Arizona. I only get servers in California.  I've tried everything that normally works, and repeatedly do what has been advised above.  It just doesn't work at all for MW2 for some reason.

If I attempt to use a VPN to put myself in that area, the game won't log in.

Strict mode and auto ping both enabled.

Resync cloud - multiple times.

However, in the past when it's worked, I've been on consoles.  I'm playing on the PC for the first time.

The in game location won't change unless you use a VPN, that's normal and you can still force servers elsewhere with your location reading the same.

Could you show a screenshot of the map showing what you see when you're in a game please?

The first is logged in.  I see everything for a second, and then it completely disappears.

The second is searching for a game.

The third is actually in game. Notice it shows the servers to where I am logged, but no server information.

Could you manually ping the server showing on the third screenshot please and provide us with the ID? It's possibly a dedicated server that has been incorrectly whitelisted

The first is the server from California where I was connected during this game.

The second is a server in Europe which keeps coming up as well.

I get one user that comes up most of the time.

Other than that, I don't see any other locations.

Also, ping heat map doesn't work for any game for me. I know it's been down lately for MW2.  Most of the time, the ping button is greyed out.  Even when it's not, it doesn't work.

Thanks for that, I've passed it onto the team to look into. We do need to update MW2 and a few other games, can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing for a another game where it won't let you ping?

Notice the "ping" is greyed out.

I use Bitdefender anti-virus and have paused that and it does the same thing.

When I attempt to resync cloud, I often get timeout errors.  In network device, resync cloud is greyed out.

Also, it takes an extraordinary long time for anything on any page in Netduma to load.  Usually, it loads quickly.  It's taking 45 seconds to a minute if it loads at all.
