Ping Assist with Geo Fence not working

Hello ive been using my geo fence in the US, as i like to play with Americans (coms are jokes).

anyways i have my fence set at 800m in newyork. 

my ping is 83 when searching (im from the uk my normal ping in uk server starts at 15-22ms) 

anyway if i try use ping assist set to 200ms or anything other than 0ms it will make me start searching on warzone with UK Ping at 15-22ms its not letting me search in my fence in the US when using ping assist, my friend is using the same area covered on the fence and he has ping assist set to 200 with fast search on and its still searching in new york at 83ms ping, why is it when im using ping assist its breaking my fence? i can also see the ping assisted server showing in the UK and no sever shows inside my circle/fence.

also if i turn of auto ping host and boot the game with fence over us it will not connect to online server shows LA authentication server as blocked.

 

I can use my Fence with 

strict mode on

auto ping host on

fast search on

ping assit at 0ms 

and circle over NY at 800m it will load me into server and games in new york.

My friend uses 

Strict mode on

Auto ping host off

ping assist at 200ms

800m circle over new york and he loads into new york games.

The easyway i  play us games is 

  Set ping assist to 0   set  your locatiln over the us server     turn atuo ping off first 

 Then you have to  allow the us data  centre servers   when it appears click allow   you have to do this procedure every  time you restart  the game  or logout of game untill youve allowed every us data centre  

 Also i only use the norma geo setting not teo fence  so i se it over the us  only   thers no geo fence set anywhere else 

 This is the method i use for cod  it should be the same for wz

 Btw im from uk as well  turn off fast search   turn  on strict mode

 Your freind has probally  enabled the data centres   already  you just need to do the same

 When you set ping assist to 200 ms  

Ping assist we look for games  for any ping in that region   so it will try to find you games  with the lowest ping    ie  games in europe

 So its not good for what your trying to  do

  There is another way but its  a lot more time consuming  i think your freind might have done this

 If you set your ping assist to 80  this will get you your us 

Then you have to manualy block every other game servers apart from the us one 

 Thisill take a while i mean a long long process 

I not tried it myself as its to time consuming  you have to block every data centre in europe

 The first method is so  simpe 

 

Btw the sata centres appear when you first launch the game

If you're trying to force a server you should not be using Ping Assist, you're basically saying allow me onto any server up to 200ms. The game detects that you have a lower ping to Europe and will try to put you there if possible. You should put Ping Assist to 0, fast search should also be off, radius/polygon over the US server you want then search.

i thought if using ping assist it was to allow anyone with the ping i set, to connect into my fence i have set?  

So by having my fence over US and having ping assist set to whatever anyone in the ping limit could connect into the fence? 

I can play us games if i dont use it but my friend has been using this when forcing one sever and it works, we dont have any allowed or denied servers on our list ( the IDs change for the servers all the time you would be sat there for months allowing and denying servers )

Most games are server based, you just need to to connect to the server, you don't need ping assist high to connect to players - you don't make a direct connection to them. Having Ping Assist so high could allow you onto any server below that limit which isn't what you want when trying to specifically force a certain area/server. By allow in this instead I just mean allowing you to connect, not specifically adding to the allow list. Your friend must have been lucky because it's definitely not the right way to force a server.

yeah he uses auto ping host off, has no allowed or denied servers on his list. has his ping assit set 200ms, fast search on and strict mode on and can force server in us, how come it don't make his game search back in the UK like mine is doing? thats what i dont get, as soon as i turn ping assist past 0 it will automaticly search for uk games my geo fence in the US breaks

I can't really answer that without looking specifically at his setup, it may be that he is using a VPN and that could explain it. Is he manually pinging the server? It's possible he's getting a mislocated server so one that is in the UK/EU but appears on the map in the US

No he's defiantly pinging into the US and getting into the new york games, we can tell by the ping what server were on. 

any uk/europe game is normally under 60ms any US game is 80ms or above. 

he aint manually pinging any servers on boot he has ping assist at 200ms, fast search on auto ping host off and  strict mode on

he can connect to online menus and search for games and load into the games and they are in the US.  100% 

its my friend i posted about before who's on virgin media im on EE both from the uk in london.

There should be about 3 servers in that radius for above texas, when i put ping assist on as you can see it just only shows UK ping assisted server i aint clicking on it.

It doesnt show me any servers inside my circle when i put ping assist on i see ping assist servers when connecting at boot up of warzone but it dont let me click on a ping assisted server to allow/or ping to...  should it not still be trying to connect the US server in the Fence at bootup even with a ping assist set?

That is what we'd expect to see with Ping Assist enabled as you'll get a much better ping that server in the UK. You'd need to set Ping Assist to 0 to try and force the US servers.

so ping assist being on is going to ping to lowest server close to me? why would it still be letting my friend force a server in the US with them same settings that where we are confused but thank you for the responses

Ping Assist on will allow any servers under the value you've set, so having it set to 200 is counter productive when trying to force specific servers. I can't answer what it is your friend is doing but they're doing everything wrong to force a server, if you yourself want to force a server then Ping Assist must be on 0.
