Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 9, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2022 So when this happens, set Congestion Control to Always and experiment with percentages so change, test, change, test etc until you find percentages that bring Ping Under Load down to match the Ping Test as much as possible. jame0174
I tried everything for the life of me and for some reason i can't get a's on all test.My speed gets capped at 380 for some reason.I know my speeds would be reduced but even with it set at 100% it still says 380.I got the a by lowering my up load
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 9, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2022 You'll need to set your bandwidth speeds to 950/50 as they're set lower at the moment, having it set lower will make QoS less effective. Are ALL devices connected to the R2? The Ping Test isn't something you can change, that's your baseline to the Google server, your connection may be better to other servers so you don't need to look into it too much but you've definitely improved Ping Under Load already which is the main thing. jame0174
when i take a speed test that is what i get for my speed
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 9, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2022 Are you testing on speedtest.net? What do you get directly connected to the modem? What is the model of the modem/router the R2 is connected to? Are ALL devices connected to the R2 or do you still have some connected to the modem? jame0174
If i go straight to the modem i get my full speeds. The modem is netgear cm1200.All devices are to the r2.Yes im using speed test net
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 9, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 9, 2022 If you disable the protection options in WAN Settings and with Congestion Control set to 100% and bandwidth speeds set to what you expect, what do you get from speedtest.net then? With these speeds, does Connection Benchmark still report the reduced speeds or does it now match what you've found on speedtest.net?
jame0174
my sliders are set to 100% yes it says 340 and ask me if i want to change it

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 12, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2022 Did you do it from the menu ( ) as it should say QoS disabled on each panel and be greyed out
jame0174
as you asked everything off
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 12, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2022 Okay that will be the max speeds you're able to get through your R2 then so I'd suggest setting those speeds as what you get then do my first post again to get the Ping Under Load as stable as you can
jame0174
So leve qos off or on and set like you said.thanks again
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 12, 2022 Administrators Share Posted September 12, 2022 It's up to you really, if you don't have many devices online and using a lot of bandwidth and you would prefer to have higher speeds then you can leave it off if you want. Otherwise I'd say re-enable QoS and experiment with the percentages to get the best results on Benchmark.
