D_L
The bug in this forum post still exists on new firmware (v3.2.453) AND a new R2 router. TL;DR: if the 5GHz Wi-Fi is set to a channel higher than 48, whether it says DFS explicitly or not (the UNII-3 channels do not say it but I think they would still use it), after a router reboot or shutdown the 5GHz Wi-Fi stops working. When inspecting the settings afterwards, the channel option set itself to "Automatic", and the only available ones are those below (and including) 48. Netduma Liam
Thanks for posting, we've re-created this issue internally and are currently investigating it. crunkjuice1 and D_L
crunkjuice1
Following this subject as today my friends R2 experienced the same thing. I am trying my best to help them but I myself do not have a R2 so I’m in the dark with some settings names and uses. Does this effect both Wi-Fi bands or only 5ghz band? Does it effect when mirror Wi-Fi is enabled or only disabled? Until a patch is made what is recommended for DFS setting and mirror Wi-Fi setting and channel settings for 2.4 and 5ghz bands? Deng
You just cannot use DFS channels for 5GHz bands. I've had that too. crunkjuice1

Following on from Deng's response, I'd suggest downloading a Wi-Fi Analyser. This will tell you the least congested channels in your area. You can then set your router to use these channels. There's a good Wi-Fi Analyser on the Microsoft store called 'Wi-Fi Analyser'. crunkjuice1
crunkjuice1
What about going over channel 48 on 5ghz band? DFS should be disabled on 5ghz band?

As above currently when you reboot after selecting a channel above it will revert to automatic so in theory you could factory reset, select a higher channel, don't reboot and you will be able to use it
crunkjuice1
Thanks for clarifying about specific Channel selection above 48. Does that apply to DFS as well or is that another issue in itself? My apologies to the OP for asking my own questions it just seems like we’re in a similar boat as well as other users even though I’m the middleman between the DumaOS forum and my friends ✌🏽
