DOGGAVELI
@Netduma Fraser@Netduma Liam @Netduma Admin Well Team it's finally happened 343 has gone crazy and claim to have released an update yesterday to Halo Infinite that claims to stop Geo Filtering; "This morning's update should also prevent players from “geofiltering” their online matches. Since this was impacting matches after they were put together via our matchmaker, it was causing unstable connections for the other players in the lobby. To learn more about this and why it’s being prevented, please read this post on Waypoint. What a deadest joke that commentary is as they basically described non USA players experience in every halo game ever made 😂 😂😂😂 What's very funny here is in this same update they also stated the following information above the Geo filter comments "As of today, we’ve increased the priority of low pings to our servers in the matchmaking process. This step should help you match with local players, and therefore have a better connection, more often. As you get more of these local matches, instances of playing on further data centers will also decline."........So basically they're Geo Filtering their matchmaking now lol. I have always found 343 do not give a stuff about other regions outside of the USA as they are happy for people from other countries to have shit Ping and get hammered by USA players playing off pings of 5 to 70ms compared to our 170 to 300ms depending on the server we play on. Then getting messages from players who think there so good and we are so terrible due to the stupidly high ping difference. Also seen @Zippycomments on waypoint about this and they also acknowledge there's been desync issues as well and still no option to disable cross play either 😐 You can you the full post below; https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/february-fix N3CR0
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 11, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 11, 2022 It is a real shame this has happened and that DumaOS has been caught in the crossfire against those exploiting game files, reports seem to be that it's made things worse so maybe they'll change again to where the filter can be used again. It's classic 343 rather than allow console players to turn off crossplay we will just stop ppl using the geo filter and continue to allow some PC players to cheat with aim bot and hacks. I don't mind the change as long as it benefits non USA players and it actually does what they claim. As in the past it never has if everyone gets low ping and decent games we all win, and I still have the congestion control for the R2 and no long in my network its a win win. On the bright side Fraser and Team if it wasn't for your amazing software this point would never have been reached and it still works on every other game. Keep up the awesome work team 😀💪👌 Netduma Fraser
