Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Hi, If your router has just given you a wrong location AND its not in Australia. Please just post here and say "Here" or whatever. I'll personally put your info in our cloud and it will update itself automatically Thanks
Buds Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Here. Yesterday evening router had mysteriously moved me to west coast USA. Never thought anything about it and just moved it back to UK.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Just checked you out Buds, nope you're in the right location. Not sure what happened there lol
Buds Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 No worries, first time I'd moved since original setup. Maybe I'd dragged it as I shut down in error. Thanks for checking Iain.
jeycee Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Here. it shows i am in north germany but i am in munich(south) is it ok?
Alex49H Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Does it randomly move you? I am in the US on the West Coast in Southern California. I moved it this morning towards Nevada or Utah I think.
Guateuc Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 HereIt thinks I am in the Northwest US when I am in South US.
regulator95 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Iain I moved my location to my exact gps coordinates and it keeps moving my from Maryland to close to Wichita KS.
regulator95 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 And FYI I literally just moved it back if you look at it. Something is getting reset with the time as well.. Do these events possibly have anything to do with each other?
TearlessTub Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Mine thinks I'm in the middle of the U.S. I'm actually in Seattle, WA
ziocomposite Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Here, puts me in Australia when I'm in Vacaville, CA
lilstone87 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Well I guess my new home place is around Seattle, Washington So much for living in virginia
decimalator Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Well I guess my new home place is around Seattle, Washington So much for living in virginia The rain helps to wash away the blood of your enemies. I'm in Oregon, but my Duma wants me to live somewhere smack dab in the middle of the country. I drag it up to the pacific northwest, but it is insisting I move. Halp. Oh, I don't know if I've tried moving my location since I updated to .6 a few days ago, I'll try that whilst noob smashing tonight.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Ok I think when it does a cloud update it gets very confused. Because you're IPs are all fine. It won't make a difference to your game don't worry. I've just been doing many cloud updates recently hence why you keep seeing your location move. Don't worry just move your homes as usual please
decimalator Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 is this something that's going to be automated with GeoIP or something?
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Hi I won't announce it till I've got the solid version working. The experimental one is working though so in theory it should work as the prototype is
decimalator Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 All good programmers know you're supposed to just develop on production!

decimalator Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 You home wrecker you! Coming in .7, direct dial a realtor in the area the Duma thinks you're in.
A7Legit Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Let me share a weird one with you, I'm in Australia and it put me in the United States. lol It's ok now as soon as I set it up. I had to move it away from Melbourne as most of the radius would have been in the water otherwise.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 So cool to see the geo-filter legitimately in Aus!!!!!!
regulator95 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Cant you store the location in a database table on the router itself?
regulator95 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Ok my location is getting reset extremely often now not just every 12 hours but every 30 minutes or so. The reason it is a pain to keep using the home location is because it is difficult to pinpoint where i am exactly because the map is completely gray.
Guest Netduma_Iain Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Ok regulator if it continues to move itself let me know. I'm looking into the cause. Don't worry about being extremely accurate with your home-location. As long as you're near you'll get the full benefits. EDIT: It is supposed to store it, but I guess its doing some weird lookup on cloud updates. On my & Frasers router we're not seeing it thats how it slipped through our minor testing in v1.02.6.
