Aswitch
Hey all, having an issue with my R2(3.0.205) and XR500(V2.3.2.Beta) Modem>Linksys Router(with DMZ address 192.168.1.5 for Netduma)>R2(static IP of 192.168.1.5>XR500 as an access point(for the better wifi). LAN connections connect to internet just fine, but it seems all wifi devices cannot connect to the internet. Can access local stuff via wireless though. Again LAN connections are fine. Tried wifi for both the R2 and XR500, both have no internet access. Can connect to Linksys wifi and access internet just fine though. I have a static ip, with 10 reserved addresses. Was working fine until recently(about 2 weeks ago). Rebooted both a few times. Turned off "don't broadcast SSID". Was enabled before and was able to use beforehand as well. Tried removing and readding devices as well to no avail. attached log of R2 as well. Any ideas? log-1635109264652.txt
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 24, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 24, 2021 Change the start of the DHCP range from .2 to .50 instead, then give reserved IPs to devices between .2 and .49, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if they get internet and keep it from then on please
Aswitch
Changed the Static IP starting address from .10 to .50 to no joy. Rebooted Both the R2 and XR500. Aswitch
What's interesting after doing more troubleshooting. I tried giving the 2 main devices I need to be online a static ip(Iphone 13 pro max and Oculus Quest 2). The oculus connected after assigning a static ip in the R2 and on the Oculus. The iphone did not. Additionally threw an ipad in the mix to the same issue. Ethernet devices can connect just fine and Wifi on Linksys works fine with Iphone 13. On the Apple products, please try going to the Network Settings, select the (I) next to the network name and disable private addresses. See if this helps with connectivity. Aswitch
Yeah I tried those previously, and stlll does the same thing. Connects(assign an ip address), but no internet connection. Ethernet connects fine.
Newfie
I would do a quick test. Remove the R2, factory reset the XR500 and just connect that and test.
Aswitch
The XR500 has previously been problematic in of itself, which is why I got the R2 as the primary. It's just confusing that the ethernet ports get internet just fine, no issue, but the wifi devices are being problematic and generally not connecting to the internet. Would be one thing if everything connected to the R2 won't connect to the internet, but just the wifi devices(either connected to the R2 or XR500 don't work). Aswitch
Seems like the issue is DNS. It wasn't working with the set dns addresses 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4. So I turned DNS override off. I now Changed DNS override back on to 8.8.8.8 1.1.1.1 and seems to be working now so far.

Aswitch
Issue came back Last night. Same deal. Ethernet connected devices work fine, but wireless ones won't connect to the internet. Consistent across my Nintendo Switch, Iphone and Ipad. Tried what worked before by swapping dns off and on, changing the manual dns adresses to no luck. Also rebooted both devices to no joy. Linksys wifi works fine. log-1635658670699.txt
Aswitch
Tried a factory reset. It's now giving me the "This Rapp is not loaded yet, please try again in a minute" error. This has been doing this indefintiely each time I tried to go to different section thinking it'll load. Switched back to network settings and giving me the "The operation is taking longer than expected. Please briefly wait before using this Rapp". Does not seem to be loading any Rapps after the factory Reset. Tried a different browser(firefox), get the same issue. Confirmed adblocker has been turned off as well. After troubleshooting this for the past 3 hours. Giving up for the night. Was working fine until a few weeks ago.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 31, 2021 Administrators Share Posted October 31, 2021 Probably what happened there is you tried to access the router too quickly after the factory reset and so not every Rapp had loaded correctly. If you reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes, then access and see if everything loads okay and whether the connectivity issues have resolved after the reset. Aswitch
Tried that earlier and had difficulity finding the router's ip which was about half an hour. Did another reboot and now able to load and reconfigure the router. Will see how things go now. Everything currently at least is working as it should.
