davemarsden132
Hi All, Few questions, ive noticed the XR700 is no longer for sale but the XR500 is? Is there a reason for this. Should i really be swapping the xr700 for the xr500 maybe?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 25, 2021 Administrators Share Posted September 25, 2021 That would be down to Netgear, I don't have a reason for this. I suspect it didn't sell as well as anticipated or that the hardware was too expensive as it is pretty beefy. If the 700 is working well for you then no need to change. Bert
They work equally well. There is actually no need to use a XR700 over a XR500 if you don't use the NAS features or link aggregation or 10Gbit port. XR700 has lower latency on LAN when you use the 10Gbit feature with DAC cable though. DumaOS on XR500 has slightly more features over the XR700, I believe it has adblocker as well. I have both and the the XR700 is in use and the XR500 in the box
