headstruck Posted August 13, 2021 Share Posted August 13, 2021 Hi, I'm currently running the R2 as a router attached to the modem, with an XR1000 serving as an AP on the other side of the house. On the device manager panel it constantly goes online and offline, but devices are somewhat "fine". Checking the logs, it looks like a constant spam of "DHCP old event" followed by a "DHCP lease change" is causing this. I've been looking around the logs since a few of our devices have been disconnecting at odd times, and the logs on the XR1000 do show a disconnection at around the same time as what the household members reported a couple days ago, could this be related? I've given the XR1000 a reserved address via DHCP and apparently my laptop (which isn't even connected to LAN) has the exact same IP address and is showing up as being connected via LAN. Is the LAN behaviour expected from this setup, where it's connected via AP? I know for a fact the duplicate IP addresses isn't normal, and the laptop doesn't have a reserved IP address given to it either. How long is it before the wireless devices reconnect? Have you disabled the WiFi on the R1 and therefore all wireless devices connecting to the XR? If so that makes sense as it can't detect they're connected to WiFi properly as technically they're connected to the XR which is via ethernet so that's what it detects them as being also. XR is still in AP mode, nothing has changed. Logs are the same on it too, disconnect/reconnect alongside NTP stuff exactly like how the logs were in the original post. WiFi is also enabled on the R2, and even though my phone and laptop is connected via the XR, it still doesn't show that those devices are connected. It shows almost everything as offline excluding a few devices, but even devices that are clearly connected (and working, temporarily) show as offline. We have a couple of new Virgin TV 360 boxes that are constantly disconnecting in the mornings (or in the middle of the night before the morning) and requiring to be fully rebooted to start working again. The XR1000 has logs of "Internet connected" alongside NTP sync logs every 6 hours, could that be related perhaps? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On the R2 LAN Settings, set the DHCP pool so that the IPs you have given the devices are outside of the range and see if it is better. For example, range = .2 - .250 change to .50 - .250 and ensure devices have an IP between .2 & .49. Was that the entirety of the XR log? Yep, that's the entirety of it. I just set the DHCP pool to .50 - .200, since I have a few reservations on .2 - .10 with the AP (XR1000) on .220 - should this be fine?
