XR1000 software issues - freezing

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys,

I have been having issues with my XR1000. Every week I need to restart the router because I'm unable to access the Geo-Filter or Ping Heatmap. Other menus seems to work fine. They will not load or open just the circle spinning in the middle and usually times out with a "operation taking longer than expected". Besides this "software" issue, I didn't notice any problems with the router itself. As soon as I do the restart all the menus work fine and fast. Any suggestions?

Tks

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Go to the System Information page, click the :menu icon on the Rapp panel and change the number of retries to 5, then reboot the router from the interface. Also clear your browser cache/cookies and load each page once.

Yes, I did that, in fact the issue happens on my Tab S7 and my PC. Software is up to date, everything works fine besides the lagging issue I'm having when trying to load Geo-Filter and Ping Heatmap.

So when I go on System Information i have some "boxes" like CPU Usage, Ram Usage. The one you are asking is under Installed Rapps? and then I click on the :menu icon and set to 5 "retry Attempts on Startup"?

Thank you

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey Guys,

The issue persists. I keep getting the notification :The operation is taking longer than expected. Please briefly wait before using this Rapp.:  until I restart the router. Basically i have to restart every week or when I  can't access  Geo-Filter, QoS, Connection benchmark,....

What firmware version are you currently on? Have you upgraded recently?

Do you have Traffic Meter enabled and running?

Are you using any USB devices connected to the router/ReadySHARE?

Unpin all the panels from the dashboard please and see if that extends the time before it occurs.

No Sir, I don't. Strange is, I'm able to access everthing but not Ping Heatmap. This is the only giving me problems today.

Might be because of the cloud update, if you reboot the router from the interface does it load? If so then resync the cloud from the Ping Heatmap :menu menu and see if it stays up.

when u say from the interface, would be the same as from the router ( power cycle)? If yes, that is the only way I found to make it work. Since I purchase this router i have been facing the same issue.

So by clicking the 3 dots icon in the top right of the interface or by going to Settings > Administration > Reboot - basically doing it via the software rather than pulling the power out.

Yes,  it does fix, but that is my problem. Basiclly every week i have to do this since i can't access the Ping Heatmap or Geo-filter. I don't call a reboot everyweek as a fix.

Once you've done that though resync the cloud, it may be the cloud update caused it to happen so if you resync it that should prevent it

I already did that before when the Ping Heatmap wasn't working ( updateing the server list) . But i will do it again and if doesnt help, I will let you know.

I'm still having the same issues. I just restarted my router because i couldn't access Ping Heatmap. I did what you suggested last weekend and today i couldn't access. How can I fix this?

Do you leave the interface open for long periods of time at all? I.e throughout a gaming session? If not, is there any pattern or common situation as to when you notice this error or does it appear to be completely random?

No I don't keep it open. I just open when i'm about to play and when I'm done checking the Ping and location, I close the browser. I noticed that it happens after 3/4 days I do the restart and it only freezes the  Geo-Filter or/and Ping Heatmap. I also noticed that de router is very slows going though the apps when I'm having the issue.  Could be a fault device?

Have you tried factory resetting the XR yet? It could be worth doing this from the interface in case something in your configuration could be causing the issue.

This is getting ridiculous. I restarted my router on Tuesday and today when I try to access i'm getting this error: haserl CGI Error

Failed to readline from 'config get DumaOS_Theme_Version'.

What is going on with the router? instead of doinvg the restart every week now I have to do it daily?

Edited: Unbelieveble, the router just "factor reseted" by itself. What a joke

How are you restarting the router exactly - from the interface when directly connected or via an app, remotely? Someone who had the issue recently was rebooting remotely via an option no one has done before

i only do by turning off and on my router and xfinity gateway (power cycle) or from the netduma software.
