BioNico Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Hi I am awaiting for my internet line to be conected and I have preordered netduma r2. I am just trying to verify will I need modem or something else to make this setup work. I am getting BT Full Fibre internet with direct fibre line to the house. Does anybody run setup like this ? Is it just simple swap from BT router to Netduma ? Thanks
Newfoundland Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Should be able to connect straight to the ONT or through the router via DMZ so either way it should be fine.

BioNico Posted March 12, 2021 Author Posted March 12, 2021 Thanks. I had a read about and I should be getting ONT. Then just connect the R2 and log in to network and all sorted. Some people get speed lose with their own routers but lets wait and see :)
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 12, 2021 Administrators Posted March 12, 2021 If that happens get the MAC address from the old router and then set up the R2 in WAN Settings to use that MAC address then reboot it from the interface and it should bring the speeds back.
lmjones1uk Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 I'm in the same boat, waiting on my R2. But wanted to ask, whether it's mandatory to switch off wireless on the BT Hub or is there no problem if the R2 is plugged directly into the BT Hub without switching wireless off? Also a second question. Could I theoretically link my R2 to the Bt Hub via a TP Link? I ideally would like the R2 in a different room to the BT Socket / Bt Hub.

Yes you will need to turn off the Wi-Fi on the BT Hub, otherwise there will be two DHCP servers on the network which could cause confusion. You shouldn't have a problem using a powerline adapter to connect the R2 to the BT Hub, however if you don't have everything connected to the R2 QoS won't necessarily work as well.
