BL4CK OPS V3TRN
Hi All , I am currently using the XR500 without DumaOS 3 I have the standard version , everything runs great and stable but I miss the OS 3 I have on the R2. Is the current beta version reasonably stable ? Would be interested too know before I take the plunge Thanks all
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 4, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 4, 2021 So there is a .114 version that has been linked to some people, I believe that is much more stable than the others but it is a beta so you may have issues, here it is if you want to give it a try: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-DumaOS-3-0/New-Firmware-v2-3-2-108-XR500/m-p/2047897/highlight/true#M3540
BL4CK OPS V3TRN
Thanks Fraser , I have downloaded and pleased to say all the essential things are working as they should , will keep an eye on it and feedback anything further . One thing I have noticed is the Connection Benchmark does not seems to work ... Below are the screenshots from sliders being at 100 / 75 / 50 / 25 % and QOS set as always
Netduma Liam
That's strange, did you perform a factory reset after installing the new firmware?
BL4CK OPS V3TRN
Yes reset the Xr500 , not my ISP modem / router
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 5, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 5, 2021 This is something we've been getting reports for but so far have been unable to reproduce it, I've passed yours on to the team for them to have a look. BL4CK OPS V3TRN
Thanks Fraser I have noticed something else this morning , QOS set to auto enable allows full bandwidth whilst gaming . I have checked speeds whilst gaming on 2 different devices and they both show full bandwidth . When I change the QOS to always then it kicks in . My QOS is set up as follows : Auto Enable / Both sliders set at 50% / shared allocation on / and TP is on DumaOS classified . So all seems to be in order in the QOS . Maybe my 2 issues are linked . Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 6, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 6, 2021 Do you actually see Traffic Prioritization being active and prioritizing traffic at the time? Also I would recommend a factory reset once you've upgraded as its a big jump in firmware and will prevent any issues carrying over.
BL4CK OPS V3TRN
Yes TP is active and the circle is red . Factory reset completed once I upgraded. Well I used the pin in the back of the router then had to go through the set up again if thats what you mean by factory reset . Thanks
BL4CK OPS V3TRN
Hi Fraser , okay so I factory re set again via the pin in the back for 30 seconds and went through the process of re signing in as if from new . Noticed that my QOS settings sliders and TP which i added previously have not been wiped . So i re set again via the ERASE function and went through the process again and QOS settings are still the same ... very odd
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 6, 2021 Administrators Share Posted February 6, 2021 Okay thank you, we'll look into that. Disable QoS fully, reboot then enable it again, does it work properly after that?
