GBDJG
Please excuse my noob way but isnt the MTU suppose to have a value as many of my other routers have. I did try to apply the 1500 value witch disconnected my network resulting in a factory reset .not good lol. any info would be great. Many thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 30, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2021 No not unless you manually adjust it, otherwise it will just use the value from the ISP modem/router Zippy and GBDJG
GBDJG
ok the modem is in bridge so i guess thats 1500 from what i read.why when i apply it did it cut the network?
Zippy
Maybe you exceeded the maximum MTU.. Some ISP use 1500 and some I believe use 1492.. But if you think you have 1500 then it might have been just a fluke that it cut the network.. Im assuming when you say cut the network you lost connection and never regained it? Glad to hear after the reboot your up and running again! Zippy. GBDJG

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 31, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 31, 2021 If the MTU was wrong then that probably explains the disconnection, good comments above
