Keoracer Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 It has happened twice now in the past 24 hours. I have an EERO WiFi router plugged directly into the R2 it randomly disconnects and then will not reconnect. I have a PC, XBOX Series X and the EERO direct wired into the R2. If I plug the EERO directly into the modem it will reconnect, eventually but this has been very frustrating. Please help. Thank you.
Netduma Liam Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Welcome to the forum! So the EERO is acting as an access point? Do the other devices also disconnect when this happens?
Keoracer Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 Yes, I have the EERO whole home system. Before the R2, I had the EERO plugged directly into the modem and it was the WiFi for the entire home. At this point I have reset the R2 and it is up and working now, just worried if it disconnects again as I have to reset up everything.
Keoracer Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 The other issue I am having is I pay for 1,000mbps download speed. If I check it on the Gaming PC, that is hardwired to the R2, I usually get over 900, same thing with the XBOX Series X, I get normally over 900. No matter what when I do the Benchmark test it never goes above 400. I have the QOS turned off.
Keoracer Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 I am going to try and upgrade to latest firmware version and see if that helps.
Keoracer Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 Based on the results of this speed test, should I adjust my DL and UL speeds from 1,000mbps/100mbps down to 800mpbs/40mbps?
Newfoundland Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 Yes put your current speeds in from the speed test. your upload is low for some reason.

Keoracer Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 Any idea on why I can’t get over 400Mbps download on the R2 connection test? Software is on the same PC I did the sipped test at.
Newfoundland Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 What other devices can you test the speed with just to double check?
Keoracer Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 I just did a connection test on my XBOX Series X that is hard wired to R2 and it was 946.72 DL...

Keoracer Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 Connected with WIFI on my ipad upload was 44.02

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 19, 2021 Administrators Posted January 19, 2021 Benchmark has an issue at the moment where it won't show your full speeds - especially for those with higher speeds like yourself - we will be fixing that. What is your exact modem model?
Keoracer Posted January 19, 2021 Author Posted January 19, 2021 It is a Technicolor (Model. CGA4234) thank you.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 19, 2021 Administrators Posted January 19, 2021 Great thank you, so that is a gateway, do you have devices that are still connected to this via WiFi or ethernet? On the Technicolor interface give the R2 a static/reserved IP address and then enter this into the DMZ.
Keoracer Posted January 19, 2021 Author Posted January 19, 2021 No, the only thing connected to the Technicolor modem is the R2. However, I also have an EERO Model B01001 that is direct wired to the R2 that several things in the home are connected wifi to.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 19, 2021 Administrators Posted January 19, 2021 Make sure you disable WiFi on the Technicolor, the static IP you set there should eliminate the disconnects but also give the Eero a reserved IP on the R2 as well.
