Any news on the firmware update??? I updated to version 0.74 and my smart TV started to freeze on YouTube videos... could it be linked to the 0.74 issue??

Hopefully won't be much longer - we may end up just doing our own beta if they take much longer.

Very unlikely the update was the cause as it just had a security change. Check your QoS settings

Is there any channel or email where I can pressure Netgear to release the new firmware???

You could always try them on socials or by making a ticket but it's unlikely they would release it because of that

Você sempre pode experimentá-los nas redes sociais ou criando um tíquete, mas é improvável que eles o liberem por causa disso

It doesn't hurt to try

We've had our CEO chase them about it and waiting to hear back so I don't think you'll need to do this

The news would be us posting firmware, other than that we don't announce any firmware releases. As far as I know there hasn't been any further progress, I will chase though.

You mentioned that you could do your own beta if they took too long to release the new version...

In my opinion, they're taking a long time... I think it's been a month since you sent it to them, right?

Couldn't they make the beta you mentioned available???

It's not something we'd take lightly. At the very least a month yes, I think they want to put it through their SQA process more which is why it's delayed.

Netgear are moving on as the Frankenstein firmware sandwich was a match made in hell. You really don't need a gaming router to game, most people know that these days as it was just a way of hiking prices for silly features and a OS that still has the same problems from the XR500 days.

I gave up waiting for the supposed xr1000 firmware update, nowadays it is lying at the bottom of a closet of useless things that I have here at home. I bought the Tp-link archer ax73... and the difference is huge... my ping was reduced to 4ms and the connection was much more stable... Definitely Netgear and netduma never again!! given the bad experience I had!

 That's SAD.

I'd be calling and emailing NG 3 times a day, if I was with NetDuma

The XR1000 is EOL pretty much. Netgear are a huge company and are moving on with Wi-Fi 7 don't blame Netgear they gave Netduma the chance but Netduma spent so time much patching their own routers that Netgear got fed up of waiting for Netduma to sort out their side of the firmware, also the agreement would have only been for so long anyway, and now Netduma are reinventing themselves as a QOE company. In the early days the R1 was something new but as routers got more powerful with better features and the gaming world changed any router is a gaming router these days, routers are all so much more powerful than the R2 and R3 now and with AI gaining ground fast Netduma are years behind I fear.

Netduma have changed track for their future, as a AI router or even a 6E/7 router will game better than the R2 and R3. Netduma are not a hardware company hence QOE and the new name Optima! Surely you have noticed these forums are very quiet these days, that says a lot. A router that can work faster than a human with Dynamic QoS makes and real DPI with 2.6Ghz CPU's and huge amounts of ram to run AI which means Duma OS is obsolete and ad blockers belong on browsers not routers, but if you want that feature buy a Synology router which has that feature very well implemented, and with great firmware.
