Clinton92
Hi Duma Army Lately I've been playing heaps on black ops 2 and aw both on the ps3. And my experience has been absolutely amazing. Ps4 version of aw is a joke I can barley go positive. On the ps3 I'm slapping players around getting plenty of hate mail But on the other hand im having games with 30ms to 40ms ping and the game feels smooth as butter. But Im still getting jerked around in some games ? When I look at the host ping its seems a solid 35ms with flat line ping almost. Also my cc is set to 70% download and 100% upload the reason my upload cc is set to 100% is if I go any lower I get time outs. Also using reactive as I think this works best for me. Either algorithm I use I always get a min of 34ms average of 38ms and max of 300ms ping in my cmd test continously pinging to 8.8.8.8 ?
lukasz
I am not sure what are you actualy asking for? Is you question is why youping flucate so much? And with the game i think you sort of asnwer youself.. AW Its a hit and miss and its way far form beening perfect no matter what you do the game is wonke. Here are setting that works fine for me on ps4 AW FFA game mode http://forum.netduma.com/topic/2547-my-duma-settings/
Clinton92
Yea Lukasz ping seems to fluctuate but the games seems to run smooth as butter. half plays jerky and get rubber banded and the other half seem to play amazing. i dont know if its a host issue but when i look at the host ping its stable and flat line. So i dont know if its from my end or the host ?
lukasz
Sure we can investigate it a bit further i am at work right now will get back to you as son as i get home. Here are some questions for you in a mean time. Is the device that you are using cmd test on connected via wire or wireless? Can you also run a internet diagnostic on your R1 router and post results here? Can you also run in cmd command: tracert 8.8.8.8 and post the info here? Can you tell if the fluctuations occurs more in a peak times like when people are back form work school ect?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 3, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 3, 2015 Okay so you are literally getting the best game pings you can with what your base ping is. So I'd recommend playing around with the Geo-filter, moving location etc to see if you can avoid the bad games you get.
lukasz
Yebs the base ping its not ideal but it is very stable i would say very very stable. Is it like this regardless of the time of the day?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 3, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 3, 2015 Basically it enables us to update servers/hosts for the Geo-filter, so any new MS server for example will get pushed to your router

As thats were my trace route always goes when i hit the trace button. If not what suggestion would you say to do to find the best location Cheers
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 3, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 3, 2015 I wouldn't pay attention to the trace, ping is king so if you're getting a good ping don't worry about that. You can do that if you want to ensure you get an Australian host. Maybe someone from Aus can comment on their optimum setup, perhaps A7Legit or others? lukasz
If you are playing AW then you know that this game runs prety much on dedicated servers. Thers no rule of a thumb with setting your home location. It a bit like try this try that and then see for you self witch location gives you better game. Sometimes i play on dedis in EUROPE that trace all the way back to the US. Game plays fine. Regardles. I am in l london though
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted July 4, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 4, 2015 If you're getting the same ping but different experience then its most likely the game mate as it seems your connection is optimum. You can try moving your home around to get different dedicated servers.

The problem is there is only 1 dedicated server in aus and thats in Adelaide it plays like garbage. 35ms ping but playing a overseas host plays better than it.
