Burger100
Hi folks any help if you can please, just been upgraded to 80/20 on sky fiber and am struggling to obtain a download speed anywhere near to 80. The upload is always fine just an issue with the download, wired speeds are fine and i have tried going through various suggestions on the forums with no luck. Set up is sky modem then the duma and then everything is going though the duma, never had the issue till i was upgraded i have also waited the 10 or so days for the connection to become stable.Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.😀 I hope i find the duma army all well and in good health. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 27, 2019 Well you probably won't be able to get the full speeds on the R1 due to the hardware and it being 2.4GHz. What speeds are you getting currently? Make sure you use PSK2 security, use a WiFi analyser to find the least congested channel and change to that. Move any wireless devices, headphones etc to be at least 3 ft from the router

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 27, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 27, 2019 Okay I think thats probably the best you're going to get to be honest!
BIG__DOG
30-40Mbps is about standard for 2.4Ghz. So long as your getting your proper speeds over wired which would be around 76Mbps and 18Mbps for upload all is fine. 2.5Ghz is a stronger signal range than 5Ghz but has very low bandwidth capability. Burger100
Just another question if i were to connect a 5Ghz router that it runs though the R1, then connect my wireless devices to the 5Ghz router would this affect the performance of the R1 in any way. Thanks in advance.👍
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 29, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 29, 2019 No it wouldn't effect the performance as the R1 would still be able to control the network. I would advise you put the 5GHz router in AP mode, then you could see the devices connected to it as individual devices on the R1. Otherwise the R1 would just see the router and any devices connected to it as one device.
