nathan g
G'day I'm not that tech savvy so it could be a simple problem I'm not sure. The way I have connected it is DSL to ISPs modem then connected the Duma to my ISPs modem (which is able to connect to the Internet) then from there I have connected the Ethernet from my laptop directly to the net Duma for setup I can access the Duma hompage but google chrome has an error msg in the middle saying unable to resolve the servers DNS address also trying to setup wan I have the error msg at the top after entering the correct details I obtained from my ISP stating: interface wan not found.. I have done multiple resets/factory resets of both modem and router still only able to access internet from my ISPs modem. Any help is greatly apprieciated! Zennon
If your set up is ... wall > isp router > duma make sure you have connected the ethernet cable from your isp router to port 1 POE on the netduma. If this is not working try an different Ethernet cable to rule out a faulty cable. If you have done a factory reset on your isp router have you put back in your isp's logging details into your isps router? Can you let us know what your set up is including make of isp router thank you.How did you do the factory reset on the Netduma was it from the back of the unit or from the settings misc page? here are some how to's DMZ set up NetDuma Wiki
nathan g
My setup is wall > isp router > net Duma Just tried a different Ethernet from ISP to port 1 on the Duma to know avail still same errors My ISPs modem is the net comm nb16wv adsl modem Defiantly reset my ISP modem correctly did the initial setup and had running the Internet fine I think I have tried both methods on the Duma the misc page factory reset and the back button on the router the firm ware is still version 1.03.3 I have run my laptops network diagnostics feature and it came up with this message (the DNS server may be experiencing problems) if that's any help
nathan g
Also have been in contact with my ISP and they can't find any problems there end or wrong settings on the modem (I have wireless turned off on ISP modem) they can't see any reason why it shouldn't work. I previously had a nighthawk and that ran fine with my ISPs modem
Zennon
Do you have any port forward rules set in the isp router? if so delete them. Is dhcp turned off in the isp router? If so turn on dhcp. also make sure it is turned on in the duma. Is upnp turned off in the isp router? if so turn on upnp.also make sure it is turned on in the duma. Is Ip set to manual in isp router? If so set to automatic. Have you put the netduma into the isp routers DMZ? Here
nathan g
No forwarding rules as I have recently factory reset DHCP is enabled in both ISPs router and the Duma upnp is enable on both devices ISP modem is automatically selecting ip The page where it the manual said it would show a number on device management there was no number in that spot maybe because it's not working with the net yet? The only ip info is what I think is my laptops. In my modems settings if I find the Dumas ip it gives me the option of both DMZ and unpn being active also asks if you want DMZ mode single or DMZ mode multi not sure what is needed After going through all the things and making sure if all the stuff you mentioned was correct I rebooted both devices a few times trying to get something working but still no luck
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 25, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 25, 2015 What is your ISP? Do you know if they require PPPoE? Can you take a screenshot of your LAN and WAN settings on the duma please.
nathan g
My ISP is iiNet and I was on the phone with them 2 nights ago they require PPPoE and the settings I entered are all correct asked them if I could use the other ISP wan option but it doesn't look like I can. At work now but I'll post the images when I get home but I can tell you the results as I have them on my phone that I can't upload images from Wan settings: PPPoE: enabled both correct ISP username and password entered Wan ip: disabled Wan MAC address: disabled Wan Vlan: disabled IPv6: enabled (have tried both mtu and IPv6 as disabled but to no avail) Mtu: enabled, blank feild Lan settings: Host address: 192.168.88.1 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 DHCP: enabled From: 192.168.88.100 To: 193.168.88.250 Lease time: 12 hours DNS: automatic DNS: enabled Primary: blank Secondary: blank IPv6: Enabled Mtu: Enabled (blank) Hope this information helps as I'm really looking forward to getting the Duma up and running
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted June 26, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted June 26, 2015 When you go to Device Manager, is there a number after 'WAN IP'? If there is can you open a command prompt and type 'ping 8.8.8.8' - then past the results here please Also try changing the DNS settings in Settings >> LAN to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.7.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 26, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 26, 2015 In your ISP hub can you put it in modem mode at all? Otherwise use the DMZ single mode to put the R1 into and see if that makes a difference.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 26, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 26, 2015 In your ISP hub can you see what devices are connected to it? It should show their IP or as a Mac address, you can then use this to find out which the R1 is.
