MPDalmau
So ever since I got my new XR500 and set up my home network about two months ago, I have never been able to see my PC in my network map under either wifi band. Currently my tower is set up wirelessly, and now that I am in a new place, I will be setting it up wired when I get the chance. Be that as it may, for the time being it is wireless, and yet I cannot identify it in any interface that allows me to track devices on my home network (I want to do this mainly to ensure that my PC has the highest priority in the QoS). It should be said that my PC is set with a static IP and using manually set public DNS servers, all being run through a VPN that uses a TOR client. Does anyone know if custom settings like this could interfere with my router's ability to display my PC in the Duma OS interface? I have checked every device on my home network and have individually identified each and every one of them, and not a single device shows the static IP address that I have set on my rig. Now, I should also mention that every time I have accessed the Duma OS, it has been through my PC. I was wondering if the Duma OS does not or cannot display the device that you are currently accessing it through. I tried to access my router through Chrome on my phone, but it did not seem to want to cooperate. If anyone has any idea what can cause this issue, or is having a similar issue, I would really like to know. My PC is by far the most important device on my network, and not being able to ensure that it is top priority in the QoS somewhat defeats the purpose of the software for me. Administrators Netduma Admin Posted June 30, 2018 Administrators Share Posted June 30, 2018 Hi MP - welcome to the forum. When you go to the Network Map, can you see any devices called 'unnamed device'? This could be the PC. To confirm, click on the device once and the device information will open. Then see if the IP address matches the static IP you have given it. I've not heard of the device not appearing at all, so if there are no unnamed devices, just double check you're 100% connected into the XR500. Obviously if you are using a wired connection you'll know for sure.
MPDalmau
As I said, not only have I individually identified every device in my network map, I have double checked every individual device on my network map against the static IP I have set for my rig, and nothing matches. I guess I will just have to get it hardwired and hope it shows up then. Also, there is no way I'm not connected to my router, because I am able to access the duma os by searching my default gateway in my browser on my PC. If I was connected to the internet some other way (which there isn't), the default gateway would either fail or take me to the management software for whichever network I was connected to. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 16, 2018 Administrators Share Posted July 16, 2018 Reboot the router and delete all the devices then connect your PC and see if it shows up then
Xyruss
Did you ever solve this? I just got the XR500. I have not messed with the settings whatsoever, and I am having a similar issue but with a wired ethernet connection. I am able to connect to the network with wireless devices and access the Duma settings via routerlogin.net, however, on my wired PC I have internet access but cannot login to the router. Hy Xyruss, welcome to the forum! Could I be annoying and request that you make a separate post about this issue in this section? That's be super helpful in keeping track of this issue over time and supporting you more efficiently. For now though, try the LAN IP address of the router instead of typing 'routerlogin.net'. Does that work on your PC?
