Hi FocusMoney

Hard Recover is a completely different issue, please ignore that.

Can you see "Netduma R1" when you scan for wifi networks?

Erm sounds like you may have a faulty adapter, can you take a picture of it with the power plug as well please.

No, the router can't start up, the light of wifi and wired port are off.

no signal of wifi

Do you hear a beep when you plug in the power?

Posted

No beep when power on

Sounds like the power adapter might be bad as Iain stated before... Do you have another adapter you could try to use? It must be 12V 1Amp although using one that isn't supported is probably shunned on this forum

I enconter the problem when i upgrade the new firmare version 1.03.4. It seems that the same problem as http://forum.netduma.com/topic/2252-tried-updating-now-router-is-bricked/?hl=bricked

I think the adapter work well because i can use the router at beging and when i follows the instruction "Hard Recover", i can login by telenet and see the openwrt working. But i don't know how to recover it to your OS. I send the "R1-v-1-03-4.sig" to router by winscp and type  "sysupgrade R1-v-1-03-4.sig", it shows message that the image has been flashed and rebooting system, but then the router can't boot.

Any suggestion? How can i recovery my router? thanks!

So it can't be the faulty power adapter then.

I would suggest sitting tight until Iain gets back to you on this. It's probably best just to not do anything and he will explain exactly what to do :)

Hi focus,

Sorry I was away and also very sorry about the inconvenience you've had to go through. If the router is faulty we will send get you a replacement. But hopefully it is not, can you just answer these two questions to help me assess:

  1. When you scan for wireless networks do you see "Netduma R1"?
  2. Do you hear a beep when you power up the router?

Thanks

Sounds like its working, sending it back to the UK and fixing/replacing it would take a long time so lets continue trying to sort this out.

  • Can you connect to the WiFi now that you can see it?
  • Do you have an ethernet cable you can connect to the R1.

Then access the R1 control panel, does it appear?

Sorry, I make a mistake.

I can't find the wireless signal , even for 10 minutes,

The ethernet cable doesn't make sence, because the lights of wifi/wired connection are off

It  seems that the router reboot continuous automatically

I am having the same problem.  My son got the router on Friday, got it all hooked up and was able to use it Friday evening, Saturday and yesterday AM.  But no lights on it yesterday afternoon and wouldn't show up in wireless routers.  Attempted to plug into different outlet and still no luck.  No beeping heard, not lights on.  Attempted pushing reset button on back and no luck doing that either.  We are very disappointed with the amount of money spent and it not even working for 2 days.  (We are in the US).

Don't worry! As there is no beeping or lights it sounds like it could be different to what this user experienced as he could telnet into the router. Your's on the other hand doesn't seam to boot so it's posibly a power issue. Someone from Netduma should reply to your thread soon with help :)

I am going to close this thread as it seams like the OP may have had is problem solved via email - if not please make a new thread.
