mohands
Hi, I need to know how to connect to a specific server. I know that Geo-filter can do that by specifying the range and ping assist, but when I do so, the game always doesn't create a match, and keep connecting me to a 1 server whatever that server is. last weak I was connected to an American server, this weak I'm connected to a server at Northern of Ireland. How to make my console or Netduma to search for connection in a specific server?

All games have net code designed to connect you to specific servers when needed. The trouble with forcing a server is that sometimes the game will be very determined to put you on one server - and when that server is blocked by the Geo-Filter, the game is unable to connect you. The standard way to force a server is to mode your Geo-Filter home location on top of the server, reduce the radius, set Ping Assist to 0ms with Strict Mode on, and then switch off the console (waiting for the Geo-Filter map to be blank) as well as disabling the Geo-Filter. Then, when you're on the Multiplayer menu again, switch on the Geo-Filter and start searching.

I would unfortunately put this down to a poor matchmaking system on Fifa's part. Their servers have always been very far apart, and people from all around the world can connect to any one of them. The distance can cause some matches to be unplayable. Until Fifa change their matchmaking system, it doesn't look like the Geo-Filter will be able to force a server. If you disable the Geo-Filter, what kind of experience do you have?

Using a VPN would increase your latency, I wouldn't recommend using one to mitigate this issue as you'll just end up with more lag than you already have. Only ever get a VPN if you're being DDoS attacked / hacked or you stream videos and want to prevent such things. If you can't get a good server due to the game net-code, try port forwarding for Fifa instead. These are the ports you need to open: https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/fifa/fifa-18/online-ports-for-fifa-18/
