THE_DEAD_POOL
Here are some more tests. My Netduma is a lemon. Same Cat6 cable was used for all the tests. Same servers were used as well. You can see the Nighthawk R7000 does not have issues no matter the server. The Netduma on the other hand can't deliver full speeds on anything except one speedtest.net server. No, that does not mean my Netduma is just fine. Not to mention anything wireless hardly runs (Netflix, downloading podcasts, etc.). This Netduma is pretty much unusable. $200 spent on a lemon. Many users have Netdumas that operate just as well as my R7000. I will not play musical routers everytime I game.

THE_DEAD_POOL
Here is the Netduma. These tests were not all ran at the same time either.. One server actually achieves full speeds (upload sucked though). I don't believe it. Not when everything else is slow.
THE_DEAD_POOL
If that's not proof the Netduma has an issue, I don't know what to say.. Netduma Team, let's get this resolved.
ColonicBoom
I can't answer this as I've never seen anything like it. Where's MoDBoX and XSXS when we need them, they're pretty good with this kind of stuff.

They certainly are inconsistent speeds, as MoDBoX said. XSXS only really talked about the DNS. I'd be interested to know what he thinks about this, although he's no MoDBoX he is still quite technically minded. He'll probably be on later, I think he's from the same area as you so might not be about yet. What I find really strange is that your ping is very erratic, as if your ethernet cables are dodgy or you have a line problem. If it was me I would replace my cables and call my ISP out to take a look. Can you list the speed test sites that you're using please? I recognise some of them but not all. Thanks. Hang in there, we'll get to the bottom of this.

Hang in there, we'll get to the bottom of this. Pings are usually in the mid 20's. The Duma usually has a lower ping. Also server location such as the Google fiber test, is located in Atlanta. The ping from AZ to GA will be a little higher. Speedtest.net server pings can bounce around. I did order some new cables and will be having a tech come out to check for noise and to see what can be done to improve my SNR. Those don't have anything to do with speeds though. Tests were done with: Speedtest.net Dslreports.com Google Fiber Speedtest Testmy.net (ModBox Recommendation) ATT Speedtest
XSXS
You will need to confirm this with one of the Admins or Fraser before attempting this, I do not want you to brick your router! The only thing I can think of off the top of my head right now. Is do a factory reset on the Duma and re-flash the firmware on it. I know other routers, netgear/Asus you can re-flash it and sometimes fixes these odd ball issues. If the R1 can be re-flashed use this procedure: reset to factory defaults, re-flash the firmware on it and reset to factory resets again. Do not load any personal settings but manually set up the R1 again. However like I said not sure if the Duma is capable of being re-flashed with the same FW without bricking it. so make sure you get confirmation that it can before attempting it Also make sure you are using Chrome. Modbox has already gone through your settings and I am sure he has it set up correctly already.
THE_DEAD_POOL
Yeah. ModBox recommended flashing the software as well.

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 1, 2017 Administrators Share Posted August 1, 2017 If you want to re-flash the software you're welcome to do so. There is the risk of bricking it and it'd be out of warranty. If you do decide to do it make sure to un tick both the options (check version & preserve settings) - if you don't the chance of bricking it would be higher. THE_DEAD_POOL
So it would be fine going from version H to version G?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 1, 2017 Administrators Share Posted August 1, 2017 The only difference between them is a slight change of EULA wording. You won't lose any features going to that version
THE_DEAD_POOL
Reflashed the firmware to 1.03.6g. Still no change in speeds. Still appears to be throttling bandwidth to my AP. I'll post some wired tests as well. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/i/2194483032 http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/i/2194482105 Paying for 300 down and 30 up. XSXS
Have you done a 1 on 1 with fraser yet? Maybe he can determine if your Duma is truly a lemon and if it is he could send you replacement? Not sure if your is still under warranty though???
THE_DEAD_POOL
Yeah we did the 1 on 1. I would prefer to have it replaced. Apparently it's not that easy. It is under the 1 year warranty.

Might be crazy, but have you tried switching it to 192.168.1.x instead of the default 192.168.88.x?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 2, 2017 Administrators Share Posted August 2, 2017 I already explained to you what I thought at the time & there are not many other settings to be changed so email [email protected] requesting a replacement (as long as you're within a year of purchasing) including your order number/email address used to purchase and a link to this thread.
