kyroadie
Used to not have so many issues with my setup, but it appears that issues are on the rise.... First, after installing a new Netgear CM500 and confirmation with ISP, it appears that I am "losing" 15-18 Mbs download according to speedtest.net Second, can't access Misc page, gives me generic message to post in forum. (So can't adjust cloud settings as they aren't displayed) Third, yesterday and today have been almost impossible to join XBL parties or stay in game with Destiny. The last time I had issues, I did a complete factory reset and started from scratch. Really don't want to have to do that before trying to figure out what appears to be something related to the interface on the Duma? Current setup is CM500 ---wired--- NetDuma ----wired--- Asus AC3100 (-- rest of network \ \ Xbox1S wired & Xbox1 wireless Thanks in advance
iAmMoDBoX
Pretty sure the CM500 uses the Broadcom BCM33843 chipset which has the EEE bug.

Hey Fraser, on the ball as usual. - Preemptive selected already -100% selected already -Share excess selected already -Reset priority- all devices given 25% -IPv6 had to be removed, wasn't activated last time I checked before posting -Deep packet was disabled, but seems to reactivate from time to time -Didn't select turbo or super as only 50Mbs service -All cables are Cat6 -Always wired, always. Wireless is for the wife! Back to only losing 3-4 Mbs between modem and router Still having problem with Misc page and Cloud settings is just drawing bars. This has happened a few times, as with the settings I previously mentioned changing. Thoughts?
kyroadie
Only two settings I have ticked on Misc page is "Enable cookies" and "Stealth Mode" BTW Speedtest returned 53.25 down 6.36 up with a ping of 62ms (which is erroneous given where the server is supposed to be located- less than 100 miles away.) Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 7, 2017 Administrators Share Posted March 7, 2017 Okay thats good your speed has returned. What is the ping to that server normally? Try another browser are you able to access miscellaneous settings at all? Does the device manager show a WAN IP?
kyroadie
Normal speed is 45-50 Mbs, which still seems high, but my provider is suspect in some of that. Using Chrome to access Netduma as recommended. I do have a WAN IP displayed.
kyroadie
Ok. Safari still gives same error.

kyroadie
Fraser, Just wanted to post quick update since we last chatted. I had good service yesterday all day and good results last night on Destiny. I ran all evening without changing any of the profiles though, just kept it on non-gaming. Just wanted to see if I'd have any issues like before. I still can't change cloud services and still get the error on the Misc Page. A half hour ago, I had a severe drop in internet performance, which I figured was something to do with provider, as I am still not convinced that these guys aren't making changes with their new transition. However, I did the standard reboot cycle before I contacted them. Quickly through the TS process with their phone support, we determined that it wasn't the modem, but a problem with the router. After another reboot sequence with the tech (same as before modem then router power cycle), this time it returned to expected upload/download/ping times. I noticed on my Duma, that the time/date had gone off again- showing a day and two hours behind on the router. I mention this specific example as another thing that I've seen with changing settings on the router. I reset date/time and so far so good. If issue develops again, I will check time settings first this time. Probably going to try and do a factory reset tomorrow if I can find the time. Thanks. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 9, 2017 Administrators Share Posted March 9, 2017 That's great thanks for the update. Still strange about the misc issue. Are you talking about the time on the Netduma? It's router time I believe so it won't actually be the time where you are.
kyroadie
Why would the router time have a different date and time then my PC? Could that cause sync issues with modem?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 10, 2017 Administrators Share Posted March 10, 2017 Why would the router time have a different date and time then my PC? Could that cause sync issues with modem? I believe it's to do with upgrading & cloud updates, it's better if every router has the same time. No I shouldn't think so, if it did we would have had major problems with that from the beginning and we haven't.
kyroadie
Hey Fraser, morning. Well, finally got around to getting the factory reset done. Over the last several days, been having issues with my internet speed/performance just completely taking a dump. This was after you and I took a walk through my setting and everything was good. To fix, I had to reboot all my network equipment once a day, usually in the evening. Had all kinds of trouble staying connected to Destiny servers as well this weekend playing with my kids. Checked cloud services and all were set to 1 yet again. Changed off bleeding edge and seemed to work again. So got the reset done this morning and reconfigured. Last step was setting up on the Misc page and there it is, the spinning bars under cloud services all over again. So I am going to make a tough decision here and just give up. I appreciate all your help and the product is a great idea. I just don't see as much benefit I guess as a Destiny player to warrant these headaches. There is SOOOO much going on here, and the complexity I have with needing functions of another router are just making it worse. I am going to go with my ASUS as the main and try to use its tools to maximize my gaming experience. Thank you again for your assistance. And best of luck with growing this great idea. Not sure if I will sell my unit, or just hang on to it for awhile. If I still have it when the new update drops, I will definitely carve out some time to give it another go. Thanks again. Just to clarify, are your issues that the cloud settings / misc page don't load correctly? I recommend that you hold out until DumaOS is released; you'll probably see a lot of benefits from it and hopefully enjoy the Netduma again. We'd love to give you more advice and tackle the problems you're having if you're willing, but I understand if you just want to stick with your other router. If needs be we can arrange a 1 on 1 session for next week to get to the bottom of it. Still, I definitely recommend waiting for DumaOS rather than selling it; it'll be worth the wait and I believe it will solve your issues (since it's essentially an entirely new interface). fuzzy clam
kyroadie,I definitely wouldn't give up on the duma just yet, especially if your a gamer.Like Jack said duma 2.0 is gonna be incredible,if your not gonna use it in your set up for now at least hang onto it until 2.0 comes out and give it another try then. But like MoD said your modem might be the issue,I didn't think my modem was the issue until I did some more research and got some advice from Buck and MoD as they had the same issue I was having and it turns out my ISP modem was the issue have a look at this...Intel's Puma 6 chipset suffers from latency & jitter, fix soon. It might not be the issue but don't rule it until you've checked into it a little further.
