dannyfanwin
I've had the Netduma for a few months. I tried to play Smash Bros Wii U online today but for some reason, it wouldn't connect me online unless I disabled the GeoFilter. As soon as I disable the GeoFilter, it connected immediately to Smash Wii U's in-game online lobby service. I've never had this issue before. Strict Mode is off and the consoles are set to their appropriate online services in the GeoFilter. Frustrated trying to figure out what the cause was, I looked through all my settings to see what could be causing it. I thought it was maybe the UPnP setting, so I disabled it and reenabled it. However I found out as soon as I disabled the UPnP setting, that wiped out all of the Port Forwarding rules under the UPnP section. Now on my PS4, in CoD Infinite Warfare, it says I have a "Moderate NAT", and takes an extremely long time to find games. In Overwatch, I can't even connect to any games anymore and I get lobby booted, unless I disable the GeoFilter Is it normally supposed to take a long time for the UPnP function to kick in to open the appropriate port for these games and fill out the port forwarding rules? Thanks in advance
AlsaibaiH
Had the same issue. Manually forwarded ports to solve it. Couldn't get the duma to co-operate. Waiting for the Duma OS update
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 14, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 14, 2016 When trying to connect online on Smash bros did you see anything being blocked by the Geo-filter? If so could you provide me with the IDs please. UPnP will open the ports back when it detects that a device needs them. If it's not populating the list properly, manually port forward instead. dannyfanwin
Hey Fraser, It didn't show anything being blocked by the GeoFilter. I was able to get Infinite Warfare working by disabling the UPnP and forwarding the ports listed in this stickied guide: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/15763-port-forward-static-ip-for-blops3-iw-on-ps4/ However, I still run into the issue of getting lobby booted by Overwatch, so I just have to turn off the GeoFilter when playing that game. Granted that game doesn't use the GeoFilter in the first place but I used to be able to play it fine without disabling the GeoFilter, which I guess was back before the UPnP stopped working. This brings me to a new issue that came about. When I set up Port Forwarding last night to get my NAT open for Infinite Warfare (which I was able to), for some reason, that slowed down the Netduma UI interface considerably. As soon as the GeoFilter is disabled, the UI is incredibly quick. I'll try opening these ports that Blizzard listed for Overwatch later this evening when I get home: TCP: 1119, 3724, 6113, 80 UDP: 3478, 3479, 5060, 5062, 6250, 12000-64000 However this runs into an issue for Port Forwarding for Smash Wii U as they share a lot of the same ports as the PS4, which I can't list as rules since they exist for the PS4. The ports recommended by Nintendo's support page and their customer service is: TCP: 80, 443, 6667, 12400, 28910, 29900, 29901, 29920 UDP: 1-65535 (this unfortunately is not a typo) Is there going to be a DMZ feature in the future DumaOS update? Correct me if I'm mistaken, but would that solve the issue of two different consoles on the same network that need to share similar ports?
dannyfanwin
I use the Netduma currently as my sole router. Would connecting another router to the modem and then connecting the Netduma to that router and placing the Netduma in that primary router's DMZ fix the port issues across all of the consoles? Granted, I would connect all of the other devices (computers, phones, etc) to the other router so they aren't on the Netduma in that situation. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 15, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 15, 2016 Hey Fraser, It didn't show anything being blocked by the GeoFilter. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but would that solve the issue of two different consoles on the same network that need to share similar ports? Okay try this instead. Don't use port forwarding and have the duma UPnP enabled as well as in misc settings. It's a requested feature so we'll try and get it implemented. That could potentially work if the above doesn't though modem mode > duma should work fine. You also wouldn't be able to make use of the congestion control features if you were to connect devices to that router.
dannyfanwin
Hey Fraser, My original setup had Port Forwarding disabled and UPNP enabled which ran fine ever since I got the R1 until a few nights ago which is when I created this post. I've tried again to disable all the new Port Forwarding rules I created and enable UPNP solely but it doesn't help. NAT shows up as Moderate in both Black Ops 3 and Infinite Warfare unless I use Port Forwarding and I still have the issue of not being able to connect to Smash Wii U's online function / server unless I disable the GeoFilter. I've just had to turn the GeoFilter completely off for all my games because the R1 interface becomes extremely laggy and slow to load if I turn it on with Port Forwarding enabled. Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted December 17, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted December 17, 2016 What Slipknot said above is decent advice you could try; you could also try this guide: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022359-how-do-i-open-my-nat-, but you might have already tried the options there. We're currently working on a fix for the slow interface issue, and there's a conversation going on about it here: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/19266-slow-gui-interface-the-solution-is-here/?hl=slow+interface Let us know if what Slipknot suggested helps

omega4
Is there going to be a DMZ feature in the future DumaOS update? Correct me if I'm mistaken, but would that solve the issue of two different consoles on the same network that need to share similar ports? I've read from numerous sources that DMZ is not a safe feature to use (it's even worse than UPnP - which I recommend learning how create a static IP address for your consoles and forward your ports as needed). I have both a PS4 and Xbox One on the same router / network. Thanks to the Netduma's ability to create, save, and load profiles, I can create a profile for the PS4 and Xbox One each. That way, I can load the appropriate Netduma profile and have the correct ports open for each console (since I won't have both consoles running at the same time). Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 21, 2016 Administrators Share Posted December 21, 2016 Having DMZ enabled on ISP hub with the R1 entered is fine as we have our own firewall
