lobby booting

lobby

So here's my theory, when you get in the game, you're playing on a dedicated server within your settings.  However once the game is over, the host is just another player who is outside of your settings hence the boot.  Typically I have the setting on when first looking for a game and turn it off afterwards so as to not have this issue.

I am thinking it may be working slightly different from other CoDs in the past, though I believe they always start out with P2P hosts to start with.

Instead of the usual search & block until you get a server because they're using P2P for the lobby the game could potentially be a server outside your radius. So you're getting booted but are then blocking that higher pinged server and search again until you get one in your radius. I will have to look into this further.

Was a joke last night. Played with buddy in Florida. Every time I try to play on Illinois servers it would boot us or ppl would seem like they are running super fast. If I play solo I don't see this. I played on his connection in Miami server. Was a slight delay which I understand but wasn't as bad. Yes we both use netduma and set up correctly. Definitely different than bo3. We had no problems like I've see. On IW in a party /ps4/

Fraser I think your right I ran multiple tests last night and from what I see it will connect to a peer first and then to server outside my filter. For example if I have my geo set to cover the Northeast search for a game it funds a peer and then should connect to that terrible new Jersey but it doesn't and a lock pops up somewhere in Quebec and boots me.

I live NY right by that NJ server so I have my GEO right on it but it does always pick a P2P host first then the Dedi. I too get these lobby boots.  I would open my filter up wider but I then tend to get way too many Canadians and people from Ohio and Michigan which equals game running like crap.

Thank you for confirming my theory.

any plan on getting this fixed I think enough consumers are having issues that it should be looked at?

There isn't a specific fix to get around this. However, if your radius is wide enough and includes a few dedicated servers you shouldn't have this problem much.

Your radius should at least be around ~1000km.

Or you can always leave strict mode disabled but would recommend the above two the most.

If I remember rightly this is how the game usually starts off then it switches to just dedicated servers.
