Lobby booting on Destiny

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Recently I am having some problems in Destiny.

I get kicked from my pvp games before I can even start (right after matchmaking), and sometimes I can't even reach the tower (Social space).

The errors I am getting are beaver and marionberry.

I don't have strict mode enabled (I didn't even enable the geo filter on my PS4), I enabled upnp forwarding for open nat and everything.

If it can help, this is a list of my settings:

Geo Filter - Disabled
Hyper traffic enabled on my PS4.
Upnp forwarding enabled and DMZ on my netduma ip enabled.
Auto cloud enabled and bleeding edge disabled.

I kept switching some setting recently trying to fix this, so they were not always like this, but I didn't manage to fix anything.

What do you suggest?

(I already tried to factory reset my modem... multiple times)

If the Geo-filter wasn't on at all then it acts like a normal router so it sounds like the issue is with the game. I'd recommend searching the specific errors you're getting on the Bungie site as they usually have troubleshooting tips depending on the error.

Hey thanks for the reply. I tought that it may be the game, but I am the only one crashing in my team.

I already seached for the errors, and I found out that it may be a problem of my network... but I don't know what's wrong. I already tried to disable my firewall and things like that, but with no good conclusion. Do you have any suggestions? This is driving me crazy, I am spending all day trying to fix this :/

I have a modem/router bridged together. Got open nat thanks to the netduma.

Disabling the firewall improved my situation but did not completely solve my problem (before I was crashing 1 game out of 4, now with firewall disabled I can play at least 8-9 games before getting kicked out). By doing some google research, I found out some people say they fixed this probled by disabling anti-flood or this ---> https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2bnmwf/beaverleapord_connectivity_issue_solution/

Okay enable turbo & super turbo mode that will completely disable congestion control and see if it is resolved then. Also make sure your console is connecting via automatic network settings and your MTU on the router is set to auto.

Solved it :)

Should I enable turbo mode with a 100/20?

Great to hear that! You shouldn't need turbo mode with those speeds, should be able to achieve them without but if not then yes. Keep in mind if you're using super turbo then turbo has to be ticked.

Hi dude, my problem is still not solved. I am still crashing in Trials and when going on the tower, stuff like that.

If you're willing to help me I can be more specific with my situation, I can try to explain what I've been doing trying to fix my problem and I can tell you more about my home connection.

Is there a way we can have a chat or something?

Let me know, regards

--Edit--

I tried something new, and it's going fine until now. I'll play tomorrow as well, and if it's fine I'll let you know.

We're always willing to help :) let us know how your solution works out. It'd be useful if you could let us know what your solution is - if it doesn't work out, we can try arranging a 1 on 1 with you.

Well I think that I'll just give up. This is too weird...

I just tried to play some games without the netduma and it was fine, but when I connected the netduma again I started to crash again, so I guess the issue is with the netduma.

BUT: The weird thing is that other players are crashing as well! It's just that I am the only one crashing in my team.

Is it possible that the netduma is kicking me AND some of the enemy players from the game? (Only sometimes tho) O.o

--EDIT--

Also, can I use the netduma as a router? Like... my room is too far away from the ISP modem and so I have a secondary router (connected with bridge mode) to get the connection. I got rid of that modem and I am using the netduma in my room :)

Could that be the problem...? I would not say yes because I was using the netduma as suggested anyway... I just made this change recently and it's going fine (Except the destiny crashing).

I am also reading on some forums (including bungie network support forum) that the issue may be this "Double NAT" thing.

What can you tell me about that? I have read that the double nat issue can be resolved by putting your modem in bridge mode (just like I did with my standard router in my room). But what now that I have the netduma? What do I need to put in bridge mode?

Dude this is important I think... read my post above ^

Other players are getting kicked from my games (besides me)... I may even get banned for this... who knows?!

Can it be?

I am talking about Trials of Osiris games anyway.

I got the best settings that you can have on the Netduma for Destiny:

1) Hostfiltering: 3074 TCP/UDP both

2) Set two hyperlane: Playstation Network and 3074 UDP source

3) Reset device priorisation

4) Port forwarding:

TCP: 80, 443, 1935, 3480, 7500-17899, 30000-40399

UDP: 2001, 3074, 9306-9308, 35000-35099, 50000-60000

TCP/UDP: 3478-3479

5) Disable UPNP

6) Enable automatic DNS

7) Make sure that you have an A+ bufferbloat on dslreports test.

8) Wreck the sh*t out of others Guardians

9) Laugh of their angry messages

I am pretty sure that I have a problem with this Double NAT issue.

Okay keep us updated, we'll get you sorted!

Ok, final update (I think)

I did play for 2 days and didn't have any problems. It seems to be fixed, Trials of Osiris will be the final test I think. I'll just make a quick recap of what happened to me and what I did to solve it! Thanks for the replies and your support :)

Ok so, my issues where:

- Sometimes when going into social spaces like the tower, I was getting kicked.

- Sometimes I could not even login into the game.

- I was getting kicked from PvP games (at least 1 game out of 5).

- Sometimes I was having NAT issues in the chat and could not communicate properly with random people

- Some of my opponents were getting kicked as well (Weird, I don't know if it's because of me or it was just a coincidence. But too many coincidences in a row? Nah).

Reading the Bungie support forum I found an article about my problems. I learnt that what was probably causing my issues was this "double NAT issue". It happens when you have more than 1 router (or modem) with both NAT enabled. How to solve this? Set your other router to bridge mode (or NAT disabled mode).

Since I have 3 modems actually... my ISP modem, a router in my room and the Netduma, I was having some problems with this NAT thing.

I changed my home setup like this:

- Netduma connected to my ISP modem,

- NAT and DHCP disabled on my ISP modem,

- Connected the netduma to my ISP modem with PPPoE,

- Setup the router in my room with bridge mode.

Everything seems to be working fine now, except for two issues:

- upnp does not work anymore. It was fine before, and I was getting open nat on my PS4 (I always had and have NAT 2, but I use COD BO3 for testing as well because in the main menu it says "Nat type open or moderated). It was open before, while now it is moderated. Solved by disabling upnp forwarding and enabling DMZ on my PS4 (I port forwarded 1-65535 both TCP & UDP on my PS4 IP). Should I disable upnp as well? Maybe not.

- the download speed with wifi has lowered a lot for most of the devices in my home. Most of the phones/laptops connected with wifi can't reach more than 20/30 mbps when I have a 100mbps. My phone and my laptop and the only 2 devices that reach 60/70 mbps and I don't know why. Device prioritisation was resetted, and every device should be receiving the same connection. I can't understand why my devices are the only ones going at a decent speed lol.

This is it folks! I hope that this information will be used by anyone else to fix their problems or at least understand more about network issues.

Sorry for my bad english eventually, it is a foreign language for me and I am pretty tired at the moment :)

If you have any tips or suggestions just reply! Have a good day everyone.

-Edit-

I just played trials today, no issues. I can say for sure that my issue is fixed :)

Great to hear you're having a much better experience!

Yes I would disable UPnP if you are using port forwarding.

Use a WiFi analyser to find the least congested channel in your area and change to that. It may be that your devices are newer and as such have much stronger WiFi capability.

Hey :)

But upnp could be useful for any other device... or no? Like my PC. I can't just disable it, can I?

Also... about the wifi. I already switched channel but it did not improve. It has to do something with my new "setup" because all the devices were going at a great speed (70+) before I did these changes. The weird thing is, why my devices are fine and the others are not?

I'll be glad if I could not have to deal with something weird or strange one day lol

Thanks for the reply :)

It would be useful for other devices yes, however having UPnP and port forwarding can possibly cause conflicts. It shouldn't cause your other devices too many issues though.

Are you getting full WiFi speeds through the other router or is it just the Duma?

Nope, with none of the routers. I changed the channel on both of them anyway. I would say that it's my new configuration, but then how could I explain that my phone and my laptop are going full speed? The only explanation I can give is that it could be a Device Prioritisation bug... I should factory reset my netduma. But nope! Not gonna do that ;)

Remove the Netduma from the set-up and connect a router to the modem. Does that router get full speeds? If not, it's likely that some of the devices are able to handle the speeds and some aren't, due to the age / model of device. This would explain why some of the devices get the speeds and some don't. Which devices aren't getting full speeds specifically, and are any of them wired in?
