OverBoost
With last firmware In WAN,if i set manually MTU (example 1492) the value is always lowest of 8 points. But in AUTO mode is ok.....in my case 1492. In LAN,if i set manually MTU..... any number i set the value is always 1500! Obviously in AUTO mode is 1500. In this mode in my lan with xbox there is two level of fragmentation Xbox 1480 (Above 1480 xboxone read always 1480)------LAN 1500----Router/WAN 1492----Internet more and more ;-) ......this is insane for gaming ,i think. I used www.speedguide.net/analyzer.php and http://www.iea-software.com/products/mtupath.cfm Bye
BIG__DOG
you should always use auto or the default set for your isp. mtu settings should not really be anything other than your isp default!......mine is 1492.
OverBoost
Sure.I apologize for my English crude. You did not understand the problem. The problem is the R1 Try you set different MTU lan and wan and test ;-)
A7Legit
XB1 always reads MTU as 1480, on PS4 it reads as 1500 even though I manually set my MTU as 1500 in the R1 for both WAN & LAN.
bagsta69
TBH I do not think that it makes any noticeable difference. I have tried checking mtu on my network and changing things and it made no difference whatsoever. Smarter people than me have also said the same. A7Legit
I can respect that, I just went with the "if it ain't broke, break that ma'fucka" mentality.
OverBoost
For all, ok, forget the xbox, we take a Windows PC, we access r1, set random mtu for WAN and LAN, download http://www.iea-software.com/products/mtupath.cfm open cmd line and write: mtupath www.google.com mtupath ipyourlan the results are the same as what you have set? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 3, 2016 Administrators Share Posted October 3, 2016 I would always leave MTU enabled as it's not something that really needs to be changed and won't increase the quality of your gaming experience. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 4, 2016 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2016 Are you definitely hitting apply after inputting manual MTU? If so then set both then reboot from misc settings.
