So I got the 200/20 plan and I love saying I only pay $39.99 (flat, no taxes and fees)

 

I have always had no problem using DSLreports to test my line and would always get 220-230 down and 30-35 up.

When I have the C.C. at 100% for download (it stays at 10% download for bufferbloat A+ rating)

 

Today I was doing some testing  and put the C.C. at 100% for download and tested at DSLreports and it showed over 300mbps.

The thing is it actually crashed several times and told me my browser was not able to support the speeds I am getting????

 

So I found another site and tested and was getting what dslreport was saying over 300mbps at one point it went to 500mbps.

Anyone who has tried that site out, please let me know if your results are what you get or more.

 

I tested with TWC test and showed 275mbps so I know I'm getting more now than before.

 

Before I did what I did actually, I am really OCD when it comes to this stuff and wanted to make sure of my cable line.

I wanted to make sure it was straight connecting as possible with no splitters or open lines and limited extensions.

 

There was still a 10" cable with an extension at the drop box to the line going to my modem.

It was screwed at the ground block and had an extension to my line, so I removed it and reconnected the line going to straight to my modem.

 

Since then I noticed some funny corrected and uncorrectables, mainly on one channel.

But I never had correctables on all my other channels and now I do.

I also noticed that TWC is showing an updated firmware version my modem doesnt have.

Which fixes latency and ping issues, also a security issue.

 

I chatted with them and was given a ticket number and was told the update could take 7-10 days. ( they dont push the firmwares individually )

That was yesterday and last night my modem rebooted while I was playing BO3 for the first time ever.

The modem rebooted and I checked the diag and it showed that they were responding to the ticket somehow.

What didnt happen was the firmware update so my modem just rebooted and stayed the same with what looks like sync errors in the log now.

Priorities 3 and 5

 

Anyway sorry for the long post just tripping out on the really high speeds I am getting right now, I will continue to check if it remains that way.

Check out the speed test site above, its hard to find a test site that can show me these speeds.

 

I guess the point of this is check your line and remove any splitters and extension you dont need.

I dont have cable only internet and the line goes from the drop then grounded then to my game/theater room.

I really think removing that extra piece of coaxial cable caused me to gain these speeds but who knows

i think my isp has brought out twc their service is pretty ass lol they only offer 2 speeds 60 down and 4 up and 100 down and 5 up and you gotta pay 200 dollars to get 100 down lol  charter spectrum is terrible

that site you provided is totally useless if you are outside the states. it game me an 81ms ping which is total bullshit!

I pay for 20 down and 2 up. (I know right?) My speeds show about the same as the TWC speedtest (ookla) with the exception of upload. That showed a bit higher than usual. I have to pay $39.99 for that speed here in western NY. The most I can get is 50/5 and that's $20 more a month. I'm waiting until they pop the real speeds like you show before I'm upgrading.

Well I would assume if you are far away from the server than you will get a higher ping, so saying that doesnt make the site useless.

Easy way to check ur actual download speed is use Firefox. Google downloadthemall fire fox extension. Install. Google and Try to download Microsoft visual Studio basic. It's a 3.5 gig program. On my 180/25 connection I was getting 24MB per second. Took less than. 3mins.

I find it weird. Friends in other parts of the state have the option. My only other Internet option is Windstream dsl. Are you fcuking serious? 6 down 1 up and it's shared like on a party line. No thanks
