Pre Purchase queestion/ set up advice

shrug 14 days is a short period of time, you would barely have a week to test/tweak settings....not sure you'd get the best experience that way.

this may be true but 200$ is not a small amount of money to spend on a router if its not going to actually help. I dont like spending that kind of money on a product without knowing it will 100% help.

There's two ways to look at this.

1. You can't be 100% certain, so if that's a deal breaker and you must be absolutely certain, don't buy one and continue doing what you're doing right now.

2. Try to find someone with the Netduma R1 and try convincing them to bring it to your home and configuring it to your ISP service and see how you go.

I remember when I purchased mine back in November 2014 (didn't get it until December), I jumped in blind, it was more of my belief in a company trying to give gamers a little more to play with and understand as far as games like Call of Duty and Battlefield were concerned (in my case). I do not regret it but then again I've been far more fortunate than almost everyone else I know, suffice to say it works, it works excellently!

Unfortunately there really is no way of knowing it will help until it's hooked up to your network.I'll go along with A7 and say if you need a 100% guarantee, you might want to hold off.IMO there has been very few people (if any) that the duma has not helped...when set up correctly, this is key,not difficult but very important.

And no one want's to throw away their money of products that don't work as advertised, you,me anyone.I have know the Netduma crew for a long time and they have always stood behind their product because IT WORKS.

But there are other things to consider...how is your network at home,do you have jitter issues with your current ISP or do you have a stable connection with low jitter. If your ISP is bad to start out with that's something to consider before purchasing because the duma can't fix a bad ISP.So I would check the quality of your line and see what you're dealing with and go from there.

Long story short...if you start with a shitty ISP and tons of jitter, the duma can't fix that for you.Maybe download and run a program called ping plotter to check your line.Run the tests a couple times a day once at peak hours for your area and once when your network is quiet (just the test going) and let the program run for a few hours, the longer the better.

And then post back the results and we'll find out what the quality of your line is.Yes it's a pain in the ass but it's something you should do if your concerned about the duma being able to help your situation.

I live in a very rural area of Newfoundland Canada, and when I emailed them they were very vague.

In the email you received I quote the following:

"If you are having issues and post on the forum within the first 14 days describing your set up and what you primarily use the internet for, and the devices connected to your home network and make me aware of this at this email address we will extend the time for you to decide to send it back from 14 days from when the forum thread is closed. This is at our discretion but we are always happy to offer this to new customers if they engage with our technical support team ( the forum is monitored and responded to daily.)"

So you can have it extended if you're having issues and post on the forum so it shouldn't be a problem :)
