Zennon
For members reading this my rankings 01 Fibre (low jitter, high bandwidth) 02 DSL (low jitter, medium bandwidth) 03 Cable (high jitter in most cases, high bandwidth)
fuzzy clam
Agree with Yoda Z...I hate cable in my experience DSL is so much more quiet and stable for gaming. But depending on your ISP's speeds in your area it might be tough to get the family to buy the whole DSL thing if your got 20 devices in your home on a 3 /1 DSL connection. Zennon
For low jitter fibre and DSL are on par but I put fibre just a head because of the greater bandwidth but I think either of them are great from a gaming stand point
Dillinger
I would have switched my whole house over to ADSL and told Comcast to lick the sweat off the back side of Fuzzy's post-workout bag if the speed were better. 40d ain't going to cut it in my OCD household...LOL
secretface
For members reading this my rankings 01 Fibre (low jitter, high bandwidth) 02 DSL (low jitter, medium bandwidth) 03 Cable (high jitter in most cases, high bandwidth) unfortunately 1 and 2 are not available in all areas. Cable can work if you nag enough. Though I was told by one cable guy, who I regularly message when I get a blip on my ping plot. That Comcast was starting fiber in my state. Not sure how true but I'm sure I will never see it in my waterfront community. Hopefully they start to roll that direction!

milesizdead
I've solved the ADSL low bandwidth problem by getting a 4G connection for the missus so I can dedicate the ADSL to gaming. Can't get fibre where I live in Finland. Or I could, but connection fee was 38k€ the last time I asked

In my country most ISPs advertise 4G as unlimited but most of them also throttle your bandwidth when you download alot of stuff only 1 ISP is honest about their unlimited 4G service. Unlimited on paper, in reality they do throttle a bit I'm sure. Normally the connection runs at 30/15, with peaks of up to 60. We live in a small city tho, higher speeds in bigger cities.
