Blops3 Sucks with Duma.

Recommended Posts

I'm going to give Netduma the benefit of the doubt, but it is just not enough to fix the mess that is black ops 3. The irony is that many of us bought the Netduma for this reason - to help with black ops. But whether its the router or the game I just cannot get it to work. Assuming this router is working to the best of its ability this game is simply broken.

The amount of instant deaths is just infuriating. There are those people in every lobby who are just virtually unkillable. You put so many bullets in them for them only to turn around, wave, smile, then one shot you to death. It's so frustrating.

I will occasionally have 2-3 good games. They are the first few games I play. Then it goes to crap and never recovers.

I hope this router will start working for Overwatch and will work well for Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2. Otherwise I believe I just wasted my money.

The router can only do so much.  This is a piece of third party gear that was built completely separate from Black Ops 3, or any other game, for that matter.  It's ability to optimize what is happening in your house and at your console is head and shoulders above other products.

After finding a HUGE problem with my ISP provided crap line I was able to switch carriers.  Since then, I haven't had many troubles with Black Ops 3.

Played with the CoD Ultimate profile last night and got some really good games with 34-3 Solo TDM being about my best.  Not bad for a completely Randy Wednesday night.

Sorry your having problems with the game.  Have you checked the line quality to see if you are fighting more than just FPS enemies?  Have you tried it with any other games?

Verizon Fios 100/100. There was a problem with bandwidth a few months ago, but it was fixed. Lines are less than a year old in the neighborhood. I get excellent results on Duma test. Haven't ran ping plotter the past few days (trial expired) but didn't see any problems.

You have what I would assume is a heavily desired package, assuming that the lines in question are clean and mostly jitter/noise free.  Have you tried the Profiles at all?

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with you as a poster, so I am afraid I don't know your region. Do you have more than one dedicated bank to play on?  Or have you tried forcing host OR camping a remote dedicated server?

Maybe I am not understanding how profiles work, but when I select, load, and apply the filter then if I leave the profile page and then return its back to general. Is this how its supposed to work?

Would you be willing to explain the last question: how do I force host or camp a remote server? Thanks

This is a known bug, I'm pretty sure it hasn't been fixed but it has been discussed.  You load the profile, but the default name stays.  If you load it and it moves your home to the center of the ocean, with a small radius and your ping assist is set to like 50-60ms, it has loaded the CoD Ultimate profile.  This uses strictly the Ping Assist feature to find you ANY game lower than the Ping Assist number.

Sure thing, which system are you on?

Xbox One

This is what I don't understand. I tried the COD Ultimate profile.

There are always people who are just untouchable. I cannot kill them. The top player went 59-14 on the opposing team. He killed me 8 times. I never killed him. It was instant one shot death every single time. I went 10-16 because no matter how many bullets I put into someone I could hardly kill anyone.

The only difference I saw in using the profile was that all bars were green. I just don't understand these people who (whether its lag advantage or something else) are virtually unkillable.

i honestly dont play with the R1 anymore and my reason is im allways playing in 6 player party.. and with the netduma is to hard to party up with friends even when you add then to your aloow list. and i doo all the step to party up like disable strict mode all tha stuff.. that why is benn using the asus rt ac3100 is a 300 dollar router but i my opininion is the best for gaming since i buy it. i havent use the r1.. and you can mee on ps4 at labrazadr and you will see that 4 of 5 games ill go a least 70 kill + and just die like 20 tiem maybe.. i love the r1 dont get me wront i just can party up ease...

Have you tested your ISP line at all?  Because a lot of folks here have reported similar issues.  Personally I had a nightmare as a solo player in BO3 until I started looking further into the lines outside of my home.  My cable provided line was saturated with noise and jitter, so while my packet transfers seemed good in snapshots, the line itself was causing issues.

FiOS is pretty good, and a lot of their network was new when it was launched, but they lease a lot of existing fiber now, especially as part of their expansion the last two years.  May be worth testing again, just to see if things have changed for you

To camp a remote dedi.

1) You need a map.  https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?hl=en_US&mid=1DxuVZpESlJMVJM5PoqeEmQvrUQ4

2) Find a location that you want to try

3) With the console off, place your Geo Filter over the location of the remote dedicated server you want to try out.  Have a small enough radius to cover the area and make sure 'STRICT' is ticked and Ping Assist is set to "0".  You are telling the matchmaking you want to connect there, and only there.

4) Give this two minutes to let the anti-cheat feature take hold

5) Turn on console, load up the game and enter public matchmaking.

About 90% of the time I get in a game on that server right out of the gate.  The other 10% of the time I either have a bit of a wait, or I have to restart the console.

Now if you are worried about "lag comp" you can now pick the FURTHEST server in the world from you and test the theory for yourself.  Personally I have played BO3 in several other countries and remote locations now.  I find that the game handles what the gaming world views as "lag comp" pretty well.

I still have bad games, but I have a lot more good ones and for a game being played on line with no limits on acceptance criteria for players, it's pretty solid.

I live in San Diego, California.  I play BO3 with party leaders throughout the US (mostly east coast).   Some players are close to the server while others like me are further away.  Often we get players from Puerto Rico, Mexico and South America.   These players are often VERY difficult to kill due to how BO3 performs lag compensation.

We all suffer from terrible games like that in BO3 especially when we have players outside the US in the game.

When you are gaming, ensure that you zoom out on the geo filter map to see the entire world.  When you have games where you cannot kill one or more players, look to see where the other players are located.  I would guess that most of the bad games will have players from far away in the game.

with bo3 you gotta have your connection optimize to the max.first thing i would do is go to dslreports.com and find out which settings gets you a A+ on quality and bufferbloat once you have that check your modem power levels and see are they good. check for packet loss i think these are the main issues we all have once you have those good to go bo3 will play good

I would re-iterate the above, and suggest that (If you haven't already) you should put your console onto Hyper Traffic. As stated though, there is only so much that the best router can achieve if the game / other players are at fault.

The game has some issues as all do and there are always gonna be those players that melt you every time you see them,we all run into this and I don't think anyone really knows why it happens but it does.

Like JD said try camping a dedi bank and see what happens, not just for one or two games but give it an honest run and see what happens. Also as UK stated above the duma can't control who connects to the server you connect to,so if your getting a lot of foreign players I'd start moving my home location around to different hosts.
