John Galendez
Hello Netduma team and community, I received my Netduma yesterday and I have watched tutorial video's on setting it up and followed the official wiki. I was successful in connecting all of my devices in my home and I have internet which is awesome! My problem is that I ran a speed test before connecting the Netduma router and my results were DL- 187 MBPS UL- 24 MBPS. After connecting the Netduma I ran the speedtest and now I am getting slower speeds ranging between 50-75 MBPS DL and 17-25 MBPS UL. I logged into my XFinity router and disabled wireless to that router. I double checked the Wiki and followed all instructions to improve speeds such as make sure all settings are according to the wiki. Yes turbo mode is clicked. What else can I do to improve my speed because I pay Comcast for 150 MBPS (Not sure why I get 187 MBPS but I'm not complaining!) and if the NetDuma is going to hurt my speed I may have to return it. Thanks John.
CleanSlate
Have you tried this as followers in the netduma? At the top of the page select the Reactive algorithm Go to Settings » Miscellaneous Disable IPv6 Local Link Disable Deep Packet Processing Go to Settings » LAN Disable IPv6, click 'Apply' at the bottom of the page. Go to Settings » WAN Disable IPv6, click Apply Tick Turbo Mode in Settings/Miscellaneous Edit just seen you've checked all the settings make sure nothing is missed have you added your speeds in Internet Connection in Device Manager. see below do a speed test then add the numbers to the download and upload. I followed the wiki posted by the NetDuma staff on how to improve speeds. Thanks again for the reply and I will do as directed once more tonight and let you know. Just to make sure we are both on the same page, i did a speed test before connecting the NetDuma which is the router/modem provided by comacast/xfinity. the results on a wired connection were the ones i listed. Once i set the netduma up and ran a speed test again the speed is way lower than before. In the device manager section i put the numbers for DL and UL that i got from my results on speedtest with the Comcast modem. Was i supposed to put the numbers of my results from speedtest connected to NetDuma?
Zennon
Also when speed testing set the congestion control sliders to 100% and use the reactive algorithm. Putting the sliders to 70% to combat local congestion will give the line 30% head room so your pings stay as low to your base ping as possible with a loss of speed but it is more than worth it. Got it! I believe they guarantee 150 MBPS and 25 Upload. I will contact them today to verify this information. I will put the correct numbers when i get home and i did click the reactive algorithm which is the one to the right.

Thank you so much for all of your help, I just got off the phone with Comcast/Xfinity (Whatever they calls themselves) and they informed me that I am signed up for 150 DL and 20 UL. So for starters I overshot the results by putting DL- 187 MBPS UL- 24 MBPS. When I change the numbers appropriately what will change that will make the NetDuma detect the correct speed? Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted June 24, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted June 24, 2016 The Netduma will ask you if you want to auto-setup for your speeds when you type them in, though if you wish to set it up manually, I would recommend this set-up. - Reactive Algorithm - 100% anti-flood - Share excess enabled - Reset device prioritisation & apply - Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc - Disable deep packet in misc - Enable turbo mode - Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds. - Do a wired speed test from a PC Let us know if you have any more questions

I am happy to report that after following everyone's advice my speed on the wired connection is solid at 180 MBPS which is the same speed as my Comcast router. One other thing I did was put the Comcast router on bridge mode as when I was encountering the problem I only disabled the wireless on the Comcast router and never enabled bridge mode. Now, I have everything set up and I just need to identify the best wireless channel to put the Netduma on which I was thinking of using Wifi Analyzer found on the Android App. Anyone else have a better solution? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 25, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 25, 2016 Using a wifi analyser is a great way to find the least congested channel
