UK_Wildcats_Fans
I was having wifi problems that are related to two issues. The first was my neighbors wifi was auto switching channels and often channels to channels that interfere with my channel. Therefore, I was changing channels every week. The 2nd issue is that I often have family and friends at the house with a large amount of people on the wifi. To minimize the issues, I purchased a D-Link access point (DAP-1650) and disabled the Netduma wifi. Everything has been working well for the past 2 weeks. Out of curiosity is there a way to setup a separate subnet for all the devices that connect to the access point? Or setup a different range of IP addresses for devices on the access point? Devices on the AP often show as wired devices. I am just trying to differentiate from the true wireless devices from wired.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 10, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 10, 2016 Those wifi devices on the duma should show up as 192.168.x.x correct? Different from the typical 192.168.88.x devices connected directly to the duma?
UK_Wildcats_Fans
I will take a look at that. At first glance, I did not notice the difference but I was not really paying attention. Thank you.

If it's an actual access point I don't think so... but I'm not 100% how they work and what settings can be changed You could use a regular router and just keep DHCP turned on
UK_Wildcats_Fans
All the IP addresses are the same as 192.168.88.XXX. Since the AP wired to the R1, I believe that the R1 sees all the wireless as "wired". It is not a big deal. I was just curious.

My access point did that too, everything that was connected to the AP wirelessly said it was connected 'wired' to the Netduma as well because the AP was wired to the Netduma
