this is scaring me into thinking about staying with Virgin!

To be fair this is the first issue I have really had with them in years and I have a feeling it is a damaged cable blowing in the wind etc as I have also been getting the odd disconnect that reconnects just as quickly.

I had that issue about 8 years ago and as soon as they replaced the cable from the pole to the house all was fine.

It does get a bit windy up here at Bagsta towers

Plus at the end of the day who else ya gonna go with.

They all pretty much use BT infrastructure unless you are on cable.

Talk talk use BT's cables and cabinet have room in their exchange but use their own back-end network for bandwidth as do sky.

In bagsta's case it wouldn't matter who he is with there is a cable issue somewhere, or a line card fault.

Line card fault, That is exactly what my neighbour said, (an ex BT engineer)

Anybody know which are the best servers to ping to as the main google server 8.8.8.8 is giving me shite results as always at this time but the bbc.co.uk and .com are flat lined after eliminating certain aspects of my set up.

They are not flat lined in those pics bagsta, 200ms and you still have major packet loss.

If you look to the right hand side of the graphs you can see where I made a change to my set up and bypassed the powerline plugs which have been working fine for over 2 years.

The google server is still showing bad results but 2 seperate bbc.co.uk and 1 .com server are showing zero packet loss and no big spikes.

Near 18.30 hrs

Ah right when i click on the pics it zooms right in and misses the right hand side off I see that know when I scroll.

I had no clue you were using them until now or we could have bypassed them right away.

Yeah the problem been that they have been fine right up till a couple of weeks ago plus punching a hole in the floor was not an easy choice to make. It's done now. Thanks again for all your help
